Gaining Delegate Status in a Region

Hello,
I need a bit of help here. I have a more votes then My Regional UN delegate, and besides he seems a bit too lax in my opinion.
here is what I found in your book:

Can I gain and maintain power?

You can gain or maintain power if you are a regional UN Delegate, especially one in a large and/or Founderless region. You acquire this position by having the most number of endorsements in your region at the time of the update. If there is a tie in the number of endorsements between multiple (two or more) nations, the nation that has been in the region longest becomes the Delegate. Being a Delegate means that you have an extra vote on resolutions for each endorsement you have. Also, Delegates have the ability to Approve proposals in the proposals list and help them to reach quorum.

Well I guess I'd like to know when when this mysterious "update" thing happens again....sure hope its not like the Haleys comet.

Thank you kindly for your help clarifing this matter for me.
Yours,
Ornate pelt

Updates happen several times a day (twice? or is it three times? Devoted watchers, please clarify). They bring into being all the game-related things that have happened since the previous update -- things like nations' votes on issues, population growth, stats changes.

Or things like the election of a new UN Delegate. If, between updates, you acquire more endorsements than your current delegate, then you become delegate at the next update.

So what you have to do if you want to be a UN Delegate is persuade UN nations in your region to endorse you.

Your current delegate might not take kindly to this, especially as he's been in that position only two days, and also because he's the Founder, but that's the chance you take. The Rejected Realms welcomes everyone.

I'm fairly sure that it's twice a day...

It's twice, that's why the maximum number of issues per day is two.

True dat. But delegate changes occur only once per day, at the major update (7ish GMT).

I can only get one issue a day and none on weekends. How do you get more?

Login to your nation on the NS site. Go into "Settings". Issue frequency is the third drop-down box.
