i'd like to make a rule about landlocked nations and there access to the see. i just don't know how to make up the proper claws like the other stuff i see here... here's a sample of what i'd like:

a landlocked nation will have his neighbor provide free access to the see to transport goods and services without penalty or royalty or whatever other form of taxes....

can someone help out? or else we add you into our currency lol

We think St Edmundan Antartic's proposal concerning transportation (much though we dislike it) would fit with your intent. We will leave it to someone who does like the proposal to hunt back through the last few months of threads for a link...

this might be a stipid question... since i'm in the south pacific region would i even be allowed to make up a rule about landlocked nations because i'm probably some island right? and yeah the link you showed is snazzy... it does exactly what i was talking about.... how do i agree with it or is it already too late to vote on it?

Sure, you can try to pass resolutions that wouldn't actually affect your own nation for some technical reason...
With regards to geography for nations in the South Pacific, if you register on that region's forum there's a map on which you can apply for territory...

Unfortunately the proposal that I showed you failed to gain approval by enough regions' UN Delegates, and consequently has never been brought to the floor of the General Assembly for a vote. I do plan on resubmitting it again at some point in the future, but getting proposals to quorum tends to require sending a lot of telegrams to UN Delegates within just a few days and I don't know when I'll be able to spend a high enough proportion of the time online to do that...
Maybe I'll find a group of people who, because they really like this proposal, will volunteer to handle that TG campaign...

ShogunKhan, i sent you a TG about the south pacific map (or click my sig to go there...).

Though you do need to be part of the UN to vote on proposals. And delegates get to vote first.

hello delegates, greetings from the most serene republic tof Turchettia. Turchettia is a country of moderation and mediation and has just recenly been admitted to the UN, were also a part of new liberia. If someone could find it in their countries collective heart could u give me a reccomendation so i can vote and repeal.

You can already vote for or against proposals when they come to vote, Turchettia, because you're a UN nation. You'll find the button on the UN page that the left-hand panel on your home page links you to.

What you can't do is vote to approve a proposal -- you can't vote to make sure it gets discussed in the General Assembly. Only regional Delegates can do that.

If you get two endorsements (that's the "recommendations" you asked for) from UN nations in your region, you'll be able to submit repeals for old resolutions or new proposals that may become resolutions.

The easiest way to do that is to ask on your regional message board. Explain why you want them so your delegate doesn't get edgy.

i applied to the Un but their is a delay? if i join a regional forum, does that mean i have to leave the UN forum or am i in both without problems? one last question once i get the two endorsement thing do i post a new rule in here and people discuss it in here or is there another way to do the thing? the cartoons are snazzy :mp5::sniper::upyours::headbang:my faves where do i find more?

you can post on as many forums as you like.

And the UN thing can take as long as 24 hours.

you can post your proposalfor a resolution here.

The recommended way to do things is to post a proposal in this forum (or your regional forum, or any other of which you happen to be a member that seems appropriate) so that it can be honed in the light of subsequent discussion, illegalities removed, and so on. Once you are happy that the proposal will in fact have the effects you desire, you can formally propose it to the General Assembly (OOC: through the link in the UN page you can access from your nation's home page).

At that stage various administrative functionaries (OOC: aka the mods) will check to ensure that your proposal is in accordance with the rules (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=420465), and will delete it and warn you if it is not. That is also the point at which you must begin the arduous process of sending messages to regional delegates, urging them to approve your proposal so that it reaches quorum. Be warned; getting the necessary six percent of delegates to look at your proposal, never mind approve it, is a singularly non-trivial task!

(OOC: PS: the smilies are funny for a while. Bear in mind that most people have been here longer than a while.)
