This bill has a bunch of loopholes in it, It never uses the work Chatel or slavery other than the title. It prohibits nations from restricting travel, this means that people even people out on bail can go anywhere even out of the court's jurstidiction or the country. Also it says "People aren't to be bought or sold" Ok, as what Prositutes or Chatel? It doesn't specify and since this is the "End Slavery" bill why would it outlaw Prositution.

Prostitution is an entirely different (though occasionally overlapping) subject from that of slavery. We advise you not to conflate the two, not least because there have been entirely separate resolutions on the subject.

The concensus opinion of the UN appears to be with you, in that 'End Slavery' is widely considered a poor quality resolution. In fact we believe that the Quintessence of Dust's repeal for End Slavery is currently in the proposal queue. Should you be a regional delegate, you might consider approving it.

UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION #6
End slavery
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Category: Human Rights
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Monocerous
Description: The scourge of slavery yet remains in these progressive times. People are bought and sold like cattle, unable to determine their destiny. Their families are split apart; they are allowed no possessions of their own. They are beaten, chained, and tortured.
Therefore, I propose that the following human rights be given to every peoples of this great world:
- The right to leave her or his job, given two weeks' notice.
- The right to own possessions.
- The right to travel freely throughout their country.
- The right to bodily safety from one's employer.
- The outlawing of the selling or purchasing of people. As it only gives them a right to travel freely in their own country and mentions nothing about putting restrictions on folks out on bail, as that has nothing to do with slavery.. As one can not assume this changes national laws dealing with criminals or those charged with crimes. As it says nothing about them in it and they are not slaves; once convicted they are criminals... there is a difference in why criminals are locked up and why a slave might be.

As for Prostitutes most are not bought they are only rented for the time one is willing to pay for. If one was to consider it a wife is a prostitute since a husband in most cases pays for her upkeep thus is buying her services, or on the other hand the husband may be one bought.. Thus they don't become slaves to the individual who buys their services. As far as forcing them to work as prostitutes that is covered under criminal laws in most nations not related to slavery at all. Also most nations have statutes on rape; which if a person is forced to have sex with another without consent then it rape... We get to criminal acts not something dealing with slavery.

Also believe that some question came up when this was first tossed out about the part on owning possessions as it doesn't stop nations from implimenting laws to control how they come by those possessions or what they must do to own them. Items like a car or gun are examples of possessions one can't just own and use and not meet some requirements to own them.
