Ultimate Power
I know the UN was built on ideals of equality and preserving peace, but heres another idea. We are the largest gathering of countries. Together we could rule the planet, greatly improving our economies and others. I'm just saying that we should brainstorm, the power is incredible. We can control the world, spread our ideals throughout the land and ultimately create a utopian society. Rid the world of poverty and also advance our place in this world. Just an idea. I know this conflicts with the ideals of the UN but maybe creating peace by force is the answer?
Bahgum will happily write or second a proposal to form a group of nations who see as a priority providing for the countless millions of injured, displaced, starving and orphaned that such a clearly well thought through suggestion would doubtless cause......
After we resign the UN in disgust if it ever happened.

No, it's not.
Not to mention it's impossible.

On available evidence (the GA and the Strangers Bar), the UN consists of a bunch of drunks, stoners, weirdos, military fruitcakes, sex addicts, rejects, dear little kiddies, honest family types and Senator Sulla.
It is regularly torn by ideological battles between left and right, free traders and fair traders, national sovereigntists and international federalists and, given the opportunity, Big and Little Endians.
Just what set of ideals are we going to spread throughout the land?
(EDIT: Lands, actually; a number of nations exist in alternate galaxies, timelines or dimensions.)

Hey! You forgot grumpy old curmudgeons. The Prime Minister feels left out.

I believe that like minded individuals who support right wing economics while maintaining some necessary social programs should join together. It seems with the current UN for every step forward, they take two steps back. To me I believe there are too many opposing view points to truly make a difference. I believe us like minded individuals should join together and create a new league of nations that will ultimately make this world a better and safer place.

Translation: Conform, obey, be happy.
This anarchist rejected that nonsense long ago. Strength is in diversity, not conformity. Success is in cooperation, not obedience. Happiness is in your own heart and your own mind, not in a comfortable life.

We are the largest gathering of countries. The UN is the largest gathering of countries? Sorry to burst your bubble, but UN members only make up about 1/4 to 1/3 of the NS world.

Jandek Sladgrov shakes his head in desbelief and wonders where to begin.
Comrade, the problem with what you are saying that it fails to take diversity into account, which is the UN's raison d'etre. Allow me to explain, we all know that you have your own domestic politics, and we are happy for you run that however you want. However by joining UN you have agreed to work within UN framework, which is consensus based democracy. This is as foreign to me as it is too you comrade, but I work within framework. I imagine you would get fairly upset if I stood up in the General Assembly and said...
I believe that like minded individuals who support left wing economics while crushing the bourgeoisie and installing a dictatorship of the proletariat should join together, etc.
You see friend? Is not very friendly. You can express concern at how things will impact your domestic situation but you can't just jump up and down and have some kind of megalomaniac tantrum and screech for a new world order made up solely of people who agree with you about everything.

I am not entirely sure that is true my Etomian comrade, but I can't say either way, it is large though, this is true. I believe the reason that the Nations States United Nations is a large gathering of nations is that we are allowed to have different opinions and beliefs, something that is not necessarily guaranteed in other bodies regions. So fixing the problems you see in the United Nations would make it smaller and diminish it's power.
Jandek resumes his seat again, and mutters to himself in Staffsilvanian. I'd translate but these are hardly words suitable for use in the General Assembly; something along the lines of "bother this nonsense".

May we continue to value the diversity of opinion, idealogy and the great qualities mentioned by the esteemed ambassadors. And before we get too comfortable about laughing off such notions of power, remember that the UN can easily be considered in this way by those within and without the body, and for or against such 'world order' views....

Peace by conquest is um... it works but wouldnt peace by diplomecy work better? Plus non UN members have the right to control their own land without a foreign source butting in. Countries in the UN may want to be part of this but what about those who dont.....think of the non UN nations!!

Peace by conquest is um... it works but wouldnt peace by diplomecy work better? So we get all the powers to be in an empty room, no AC or Heat, no food, no interns, no drinks, just them with each other and let them come to a solution to all the problems of this world. Thought that was how the NSUN did it now...
Plus non UN members have the right to control their own land without a foreign source butting in.And since we are about 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 more in numbers think what could be done if we adopted the same process for solving world problems as the NSUN does.. 'power to the stupid fools'... 'may they sit on a black mushroom smoking their pot picking ticks off each other under a bull tail during diarea season....'
Countries in the UN may want to be part of this but what about those who dont.....think of the non UN nations!! Why we aren't thinking about you? We simply enjoy the circus and all the clowns and animals in it.... thus we silently sit on the side and watch foolish idiots kill themselves slowly without knowing they doing it.
