UN proposal endorsements

I believe that in order for a proposal to come to the floor of the UN it needs approval of a certian percentage of the total number of UN delegates

As more regions (and delegates) join nationstates, the number of approvals needed grows.

I have noticed that there hasn't been a resolution before the UN body for while and my concern is that the approval requirements to send one to the floor are becoming to high.

Or an argument could be made that the time limit given for getting those approvals is too short.

Either way, as a resolution to change game rules is not permitted. Does anyone know of a way this can possibly get changed or who to speak to?

You'll have to talk to the mods on this one, just ask one of them to move this thread to technical

There's always a lull like this for a couple weeks. There'll be like five proposals and one repeal back to back for a little bit, then a few weeks of silence.

Everything is cyclical.

The number of approvals needed isn't too high; it's just that the number of proposers actively campaigning for delegate approvals is too low.

"End of summer / back to school" has always been a busy time of year for people in the US (and UK, I'm guessing?), who probably comprise the majority of players / delegates. Even good proposals with active telegram campaigns can be ignored at this time of year. It's also true around the Christmas holiday. People just have other priorties.

UK schools go back on the first week of September. Universities late Sept/early October.

As is the number of good proposals right now.

I would like to suggest a Proposal that reduces the income tax rates of member states to a rate, say 15%, if they are above that rate. Nations below that rate would be uneffected. After the proposal, the rates would then be able to rise or fall as normal. Is this allowed?

Welcome to the jolt forum, Frennierstan.

nope, sorry. It's a game mechanics rule that would turn that resolution down (basically, anything that forces the game creators to write more code).

In teh rules, it says 6% of total delegates' approval needed for taking a proposal to quorum. Isn't that like a few thousand? Or many few thousands?

Delegates, not members. To quote the proposal list at the moment.
As the UN currently has 1,737 Regional Delegates, a proposal needs 105 approvals to achieve quorum.

Now, let's all let this gravedug thread return to whence it came.
