So can we now have a legitimate discussion about the environment?

I want to do the very thing I first started here. Banning the combustion engine.

It's a time that has come.

I'm in the top 1% percent in the UN when it comes to car building. And I'm begging for the end of the combustion engine.

It's time. Maybe it's too late. But let's do it anyway.

I'd wholeheartedly support that.

There are viable options of hybrids and bio-fuels that could be implemented immeadiately,
while other types such as electric powered (possibly using vehicle surface area for solar cells) could be intensively developed.

We will support this if put forward.

OOC: You can talk about the RL environment over in 'General'.

NS, however, is not the same as 'RL': Its nations are so diverse that it doesn't have just one single 'environment' to discusss: There are nations that haven't even invented the internal combustion yet, and would respond to any proposal to ban it with a "Huh?"; there are nations that rely too heavily on it to give it up; there are nations that have already moved beyond it, long ago... and there are even quite a few NS nations that are located on different worlds, where their actions wouldn't affect any other nations' environments anyway...

So none of the discussions preceding this one have been "legitimate"? Seems to me such a radical proposal as abolishing the combustion engine better be accompanied by some sort of workable draft, or at least an outline. If you can produce something that might have a chance in hell of passage, won't trigger a flood of resignations even if it does pass, won't destroy the national economy of virtually every member here, won't be immediately repealed upon adoption, and won't unnecessarily embarrass this organization any more than it has already embarrassed itself, I'd sure love to see it.

You may not remember the Solar Panels imbroglio from a couple years back, but I sure do.

Seems like a brill idea. Cobdenia has a massive steam ship, steam locomotive, and industrial steam engine building industry; we could make millions if we were able to export them!

Of course, we'd have to work out a way to power aircraft by steam. And make steam cars practical. But at least we could ignore the fact that these wonderful coal fired steam contraptions will pollute more then any internal combustion petrol engine.

Money!

How badly would it hurt our economy if we clicked on the "make everyone skateboard to work" option when that issue comes up?

Sure, let's go back to horses and dewbacks. You're brilliant. I'm begging for the end of ridiculous bass-ackwards arguments like this.
