DISCUSSION: Cloning

Granradia

Today, it's Raphiel Yustogovich, the Representative of Granradia that asks for the floor to speak.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the United Nations, I speak today to present a valid discussion point which has seemingly found it's way into our meeting chamber and has presented itself in the form of not only one, but two ...albeit poorly presented.. resolution drafts.

"Cloning. Given the discussion that I have noticed in regard to using Cloning to create Militaries, I believe that in the general interest of these United Nations, we should discuss the reasoning behind such proposals, and if necessary, begin working on legislation that can properly present 'clones' in the legal sense with proper rights, if there is not already any such laws in place.

"Thank you."

The reason I posted it so "poorly" as you call it was because I wanted your suggestions and opinions too add to it. I want it to be a proposal made by all of us or those who are willing. I know it's not good, thats why I wanted your ideas. So far you've not given me any ideas. You've only scorned the entire idea.

Wolfgang walks in, having heard about this... debate. He stops and places his hands on his hips.

"I am a Guardian. We are all artificially created using pseudo-cloning technology. We're also cyborg human-dog-cat-lizard things. I'd just like to point out that the one aspect of our race that is protected quite sufficiently by legislation is the fact that we're effectively cloned. It'd do better to come up with a sapients' rights resolution."

He turned militarily, clicking his heels, and walked out of the room to return to the Bar.

"A lot of cloning resolutions lately...Maybe they're all clones of each other?"

The Plutonian ambassador laughs. Few (if any) others do.

 Walks in and . "Why don't we just clone those who want to be cloned, and keep all clones under security so they can't gang up or misbehave or commit mutiny? Come on!" Walks out and  again.

Kyle spoke up. "Did... did he just suggest putting my nation under guard?"

Because the last bit would breach the BioRights Convention (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7030146&postcount=57). Thank you for playing, please come again.
