Have you noticed that one day there are like 7 pages of proposals and after the moderation control there are left almost 3 but then again you enter and you see 7 pages again with the same proposals? the exact same! i don't understand it actually:confused:

Methinks it's called stubborn proposal writers. Are you certain they're the exact same proposals? Maybe they just tackle similar issues. Some issues become rather hot topics and stay in proposal vogue for an extended period of time. For instance, there seems to be a trend towards repealing "Historical Sites" at this point in time, though I may be mistaken. These things happen, and the mods will take care of them in due time. It's best to just wait it out without trying to understand it. Trust me, you'll just get a headache.

Its slightly off-topic, but have you noticed how some resolutions reach quorum and never see the lights of day again?

You mean the animal suffering proposal, which has been repeatedly submitted, queued, and then deleted for rule violations?

That thing makes me want to submit something like this:

Prevention of Unnecessary UN Ambassador Cruelty
A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency
Strengh: Significant
Description:

The General Assembly of the United Nations,

Recognizing the cruelty and inhumane treatment to which a great number of UN ambassadors are continuously and unnecessarily subjected to;

Acknowledging UN ambassadors' basic freedom from needless torture and abuse;

Horrified by the widespread practice of repeatedly submitting the same stupid proposal;

Not considering the use of egotistical wanking as a valid argument defending the intentional infliction of pain and torture of UN ambassadors for the purpose of entertainment, and;

In an attempt to eradicate the dispensable suffering of UN ambassadors;

-Defines, for the purpose of this resolution, the term "UN ambassador" as a representative of a UN member nation.

-Mandates that:
1. Torturing, cruelly beating, overdriving, overloading, causing substantial bodily harm, tormenting, or maliciously or recklessly injuring, wounding, poisoning, maiming, disfiguring, mutilating or killing any UN ambassador, or knowingly and willfully depriving any UN ambassador of necessary sustenance or sanity will be strictly prohibited.

2. No UN ambassador shall be forced to listen to the inane ramblings of another UN ambassador.

3. All forms of public expression or public exhibition, where an audience or group of spectators is present, involving the intentional physical and/or psychological suffering or substantial pain of any UN ambassador for recreational, cultural, entertainment, commercial, or egotistical wanking reasons, will be prevented and banned.

-Urges members to increase the awareness of UN ambassador cruelty through education, and;

-Further encourages the adoption of policies and regulations to preserve the basic dignity of all UN ambassadors, even those blasted fluffies.

I wish this was possible, but I think that by agreeing to become an ambassador here, one has pretty much agreed to give up any such rights. I could've sworn the phrase "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" is engraved over the doors....

But we like our inane ramblings.

Good points all around. I just wish we had something to do at the UN, other than submit a proposal. Seems to me every time I get the urge to do I don't have any good ideas. Any suggestions?

President Akia gently takes the ambassador's elbow and guides him in the direction of the Stranger's Bar. "You'll find plenty to do there if you so choose. Not everything we do is political. I advise you, however, to first gather information on (read) what has occurred prior to your arrival. What you find may surprise you, amuse you, or even inspire you. Plus, if all else fails, you can always grab a drink."
