Seeing as this resolution will most likely not see the light of day, I was just wondering what everyone here thought of the resolution. Of course, if you haven't hear of it, I advise you to visit the UN proposal list.

I could've sworn there was a weapons in space resolution, but I can't seem to find it....
Anyways
The United Nations,
RESPECTING the right of all member nations of the United Nations to defend themselves as they see fit,
WISHING to limit the possibility of escalation of warfare or conflict with nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, categorized as Weapons of Mass Destruction,
The UN has recognized 4 different WMDs as being notable WMDs within the text of resolutions and multiple others that it has somewhat accepted as being beyond the capabilities of being covered by our resolutions. Stuff like the Cluichstani Death Star and the many other strange Future Tech weapons that other members have picked up. I'd recommend picking a better definition rather than just limiting this to those 3.
HEREBY ban all Weapons of Mass Destruction from deployment into space.
Article 1:
-The United Nations defines space as starting at 100 kilometers from Earth's surface, or 62 miles.
Just leave it in km... *points to the recent failed repeal of UNR #24: Metric System*
-The United Nations defines a Weapon of Mass Destruction as any weapon utilizing nuclear waste, fusion, or fission, biochemical anti-personnel agents, or destructive chemical agents for the purpose of inflicting mass damage or casualties.
*looks at earlier statement, looks at this statement.....*
Ok, this you might want to modify for a better definition and the previous you might just want to limit to WMDs, no comment about Chemical, Biological and Nuclear.
Article 2:
-The WMD Space Neutrality Act will come into effect at 12:01 a.m., Greenwich Mean Time, January 1st, 2008.
The WMD Space Neutrality Act will come into effect upon the point of passing of this resolution.
Further, the concept of GMT and Jan 1, 2008 or 12:01 am are very unwise to put into the text. There are a hell of a lot of members who will gladly redefine all 3 so that they are absolutely irrelevant to what they are - you should've seen them redefine "week" last year.
-After that time, no further deployments of Weapons of Mass Destruction will be permitted into space.
Rework for the other comments...
-Any Weapons of Mass Destruction currently in space or in space as of 12:01 a.m., GMT, January 1st, 2008, must be returned to Earth within the next 6 months to be disposed of or re-deployed in a non-astronomical setting.
Again, months doesn't work because they'll be redefined.
The United Nations hereby enacts the WMD Space Neutrality Act with the hopes of increasing international peace and cooperation.
Drop cooperation. There's nothing about international cooperation in your proposal.

We agree with the representative from Forgottenlands on this point. In our land, we are familiar with Green Witches, and most of them are Mean, but that has nothing to do with Time.

SO, what about all of the nations whose entire territories are located more than 100km out from the Earth's surface, for example on Mars (http://www.nationstates.net/region=mars)?

You know, this was 3 days old. It could have rested in peace.
