Internation Gun Control Proposal

Description: This resolution, "No International Gun Control", is designed to prohibit this body from imposing the will of the few delegates here on the masses throughout the world by restricting their right to possess firearms.

1) The United Nations will create no law affecting a sovereign nations right to allow or disallow its citizens to possess firearms.

2) The United Nations will create no law forcing individual citizens to do anything to obtain a firearm. These laws will be governed by individual nations and not an international body.

3) This resolution will repeal all other gun control measures on the books that relate to an individual's right to bare arms.

The rights of citizens should be determined by the citizens themselves through their elected governments not an international body such as this.

A. It's illegal, as it's really just a blocker.

B. It's illegal, as it proposes to sweeping repeal any previous legislation in a certain area in one fell swoop. Resolutions must be repealed one at a time.

C. There aren't any gun-control measures on the books that relate to an individual's right to bear arms, nor are there laws on the books related to the right to bare arms. Short-sleeves have not been addressed by the UN.

It's considered good manners to post a copy of the resolution here on the boards in case it gets deleted for good cause or just because people are lazy.

You don't have "No" in the title. It's a bugger to find if you look for "No International Gun Control."

You should go here or to another site (like reclmation) to work on the body of your resolution. It's a great way to avoid making obvious mistakes.

Your resolution talking about "creating no laws," and yet these laws (the ones we haven't created?) will be enforced at the national level.

You can only repeal resolutions through the REPEAL category. This is done by going to the specific resolution and clicking REPEAL. You can only repeal one resolution at a time. This resolution is probably illegal (I'm not a mod) and will probably be deleted in short order. You may even get a warning. You may be forced to pay your bar tab at the stranger's bar.

Do anything is a little vague. Most nations that ar gun happy still force people to pay sales tax.

While I greatly sympathize with your desire to eliminate the possibility of further abuse of the power of the United Nations by certain ideologues who wish to destroy the ability of individuals to defend themselves with armaments rather than the platitudes that seem to be rather ineffective against others who are willing to engage in violence, your methodology needs improvement.

I highly recommend that you review the UN Proposal Rules and re-draft your proposal to fit them. Once that is finished, we can begin the work of refining the proposal for the greatest possibility of passage.

There are no gun control resolutions to repeal and, given the reaction to things like "Curb Illicit Arms Transfers" and "RFID in new Weapons", I'd venture it's unlikely there'll be one. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Pretty much everyone has covered all the bases already but I feel there's one other legality note to make: all resolutions must directly affect nations and their stats at SOME level, no matter how minor. While a repeal clause does do so, your repeal clause is illegal insofar as its very existance and your other two clauses have a net effect of zero.
