secret spys

i think we should have spy's on this game. It would be fun using them to take controll of other regions and stuff like that.:gundge:

If you want spies, you must not declare it...;)
Ah, well I suppose you could have something like spies such as allied nations joining other regions. Spies could be used in roleplay, though I don't know if spies could be considered a wank... perhaps if you had permission from the other nation you could use them.
But really that's all beside the point as I believe you're asking for the implementation of a new game mechanic and this is entirely the wrong forum for that.

We already have spies, though we haven't bothered infiltrating Sir Matthews.

We do have spies. They're the only thing that can kill a Marshal.
OOC: Ariddia has spies (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Ariddian_Intelligence_Service_%28SERA%29). But don't tell anyone.

Mikitivity has NO spies. ;)
Especially NOT the Intl Red Cross. They would never dare tell anything to Mikitivity.

Yes, I can confirm that Mikitivity has no secret spies in the employ of the Intl Red Cross and that we would never dare tell anything secret to Mikitivity. But since the question is about secret spies, we bother Mikitivity with common, public rumours all the time.

A newbie walks into the UN forum, posts a suggestion for application advancement of NS and the thread gets turned into a joke thread with no one saying "Hey, BTW, this belongs in Technical where it would get laughed at because we don't even have wars in the game, though if you're talking about RPs, people employ spies all the time so it doesn't really matter"

Don't worry Shiek, you're not missing out on anything by not having any spies in Sir Matthews. In fact the spies we sent there died of boredom within a week.

Be careful what you buy. I got the version they're selling in the stores these days. It's different from what we played as kids. The number rankings go in reverse order, and the pieces don't have the stuff engraved on them anymore. It's generic pieces, with tiny cards with pictures that you slide into slots in the pieces.
I want my old Stratego set back.

They did that with "Life," too, albeit that's a very different game. But they added all these little tiles and all kinds of stupid things that the set my family used when I was little didn't have.

I'm still pissed about what they did to Risk. I preferred the Roman Numerals, not this soldier/calvary/cannon nonsense.

Don't be. Remember New Coke? It was a way to take away something that we liked and replace it with something else, so that they could generate more interest in Classic Coke.
If you can't find the old game on ebay, eventually they'll remake it.

Well, since this thread's gone completely haywire, I'll jump in to say that I agree with Mik on the superiority of RC. I lived on the stuff when I was working for a public TV station in West Virginia (it was donated, so it was all you could drink!). Unfortunately, it's not available here in Massachusetts. :(

I'm on vacation, I can perpetrate a threadjack...
Ever have RC Draft? They made it with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. Mmm... that was some good stuff, there. Of course, while RC is fine and dandy, I still prefer Dr. Pepper.
Excepting beer, of course. And coffee. Gotta have the coffee.

Totally -- I will have a soda at lunch, but a day feels complete with RC in a *glass* with ice! I have not gotten around to it, but eventually I'll photoshop a bottle of RC into MC -- Mikitivity Cola. :)
I'm lucky that the local grocery story carries RC and some incredible beers and cheeses! :9

See, I'm about to take a drive down to the Bay Area (hard labor in store for me tomorrow), otherwise I'd be drowning in a half-pack of Urquell. :9 I got a promotion at work, and figured the weekend should be a good time to enjoy, but my brother needs somebody to help him move out of his house. :/

Of course you can. The older sets, despite being dog chewed and cat clawed, now are going up in value because we can no longer walk into Fred Meyer and buy a similar product. Once the secondary market value gets high enough, Milton Bradley will bring back a Risk-1976 or whatever, put it in a wooden box (plastic will be gone by then, because our refineries will be history), and charge a lung and kidney for it.
