Repeal Resolution #15
Dear UN members and delegates,
I implore you to consider supporting my proposal for the repeal of Resolution #15- "Protect Historical Sites". The previous resolution does nothing, and it interferes with the nations' sovereignty to govern themselves. Please consider supporting it. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Khabro

Care to post the text of the proposal here? Though I agree that that particular resolution can go.
Category: Repeal
Resolution: #15
Proposed by: Khabro
Description: UN Resolution #15: Protect Historical Sites (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: All Businesses) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument: OBSERVING a nations sovereignty to make decisions about it's national landmarks,
REALIZING that historical sites contribute to a nation's income through tourism,
ACKNOWLEDGING that each nation has the right to choose whether or not an historic site may be destroyed, in order to make way for new industry,
EMPHASIZING that a nation does not exist without industry- the driving force of economy,
NOTING that resolution #15 incorrectly states and ssumes that "tourism would lose all value and deprive all countries of a significant source of income."
BELIEVING that each nation should hold the right to destroy historical sites as they see fit,
FURTHER BELIEVING that each nation should hold that right without interference from an outside source,
Hereby decrees that Resolution #15 - "Protect Historical Sites" should be repealed by the United Nations.

I agree with you Khabro on this matter. If a nation feels that certain attributes to it's land to not contribute to it's nations value in any such way, that nation should hold the right to efface the certain items in question. Other nations should not be discussing what things would make other nations simply look better. NS was not solely created to gossip about which nation is the "prettiest".
This is why I believe that resolution number 15 is somewhat useless. Word needs to get around to support it, because the polls close tomorrow.

Your repeal is good, though it could use a bit of work. I suggest taking it over to Reclamation (http://s15.invisionfree.com/Reclamation), which is a good place to get support on your ideas.

Even accepting that resolution 15, a poorly worded effort of the style common to early UN resolutions and current proposals by those unwilling to give serious thought to their drafting, does overstate the loss of tourism (though not, in our opinion, the loss of income), there are several steps of your argument which are points of ideology we simply do not share. Its overall flavour of glorifying destruction, which we accept is probably not the intention of the honoured representative, would make it a distasteful matter for us to consider, never mind support.
That said, the advice of the Ambassador of Paradica is sound, and well worth considering.
