LEGALISE human embryonic stem cell research

NO restrictions on interstate transportation of minors to get abortions

BANS partial birth abortions except to save the mother’s life

EXTRA funding for health providers who provide substantial information on abortion

UPHOLDS a minor’s right to complete privacy regarding abortions

What does everyone think? It is now listed as a proposal.

This would run contrary to previously passed legislation.

I think the fact that I posted it in the Silly Proposals thread says it all.

Silly? An issue like abortion. Fair enough if that's what you think. My opinions of what this place was about were obviously wrong.

The thread also covers illegal proposals, which, since we already have a resolution on abortion, your proposal is.

EDIT: Hello time warp:rolleyes:

It's not silly. It was in that thread because it was illegal.

Welcome to the UN! Please read the Proposal Rules, which are stickied on this forum.

Perhaps your opinions of what this place was all about didn't encompass the idea that we've been doing this for four years now. Of course we've discussed abortion. Here's what I told the last guy who suggested a new abortion proposal to look at.

Before you start, you should be aware that the abortion-themed proposals have been some of the most acrimonious and bitter fights in UN history. Take a look over prior resolutions and attempts to see what you're in for ...

Abortion Debate, Mk 2 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=288314)

PASSED: Abortion Legality Convention [Official Topic] (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=471254)

Now those are just the topics with over 300 replies in each. There have been tons of other topics, most of which were probably closed for excessive flaming and flamebaiting.

This is not a new topic to NationStates. People have strong opinions, and the majority of them (judging by vote totals) disagree with your position. You're going to have a hard sell to get this crowd to repeal the current proposal, and an even harder sell to get your replacement voted in. But if that's what you want to do ... get writing. Just don't post ANYTHING on the proposal list until this crowd agrees that it's legal.

It's not even well-thought. And...as I will always stand against abortion in all it's forms...you aren't helping your arguement.

It's illegal. It contradicts the Abortion Legality Convention (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Abortion_Legality_Convention).

Thank you. Drive through.

Other than ignoring basic human rights and science, encourages abortion rather than defending it, and ignores all prescendent and previous aplication of laws, there's nothing wrong with it.

Oh, there is the part about being religously intollerant, mocking national sovernity, and assured that many victims of child molestation will never be punished.

Did I miss anything?

Yeah, that it's flat-out illegal. See my post above.

Well...

I did figure you had that part covered...
