Cars a thing of the past

Unfortunately, it is not just the petrol required to power the car that is the problem. The petrol in the pavement and in the production of the car is just a big a problem. I believe we need to move towards a light rail system, and abandon this silly notion of a car once and for all.

I most diagree. A light rail sytem is just imposible to build everywhere, and the countries who depend on cars it would be a disaster for they probably don't have enough money to build a rail to begin with. If you can come up with a theasable way to combat this issue i will listen whole heartily.
All though if you can make a cost effective fuel for cars that EVERYONE can use it would be a plus there.
Sincerely,
Wers Der-tos, Civil Ambassador to the U.N. Delegation.

Cars are a thing of the future! One day, we hope that nearly every Cobdenian will own a car! And a dirigible! And a Breville Sandwhich maker!
You may thinks these are forlorn hopes for our little nation, but we shall achieve it one day!

I do not believe cars arre a thing of the past as many people require a car for there day to day life. Creating some new rail system sounds like the perfect idea but it would also cost more than it would solve. construction, production, maintenance and trying to enforce the banning of cars would all cost more than it would effectively return. I agree that a cheaper fuel should be researched and then put into production but until then there isn't alot we can do.
As a side note the scientists of my nation have been researching such a fuel and hope that our economy can remain strong enough to handle the cost I hope other economically strong nations will follow suit.

We don't use "cars" anymore really. For those who can afford them, there are speeders.
