Delegate Manditory Conference Proposal

This is the proposal. Please tell me what you all think. Be it harsh or kind let it be truthful.

Description: The United Nations, working together to make a better world, still have issues amongst themselves concerning their differences and understanding of each other's culture. Due to the misunderstanding of each other's culture it is difficult to agree on many topics, as said topics vary in impact and meaning to each country.

Proposal: We propose that the UN have 1 week out of the year that requires all delegates to attend a conference and interact with all delegates despite race, color, creed or political views. The delegates, during this time, are to try to gain a better understanding of each country and the reasons for their political views and policies.

We Hope: By doing this that there becomes a better understanding among us which in and of itself will promote peace and welfare between all countries.

Thank you all for your imput. I will be glad to read it. I do not know if I put it in the correct category but I hope so. I will be looking forward to hearing form you.

OOC: We kind of act on the assumption that all the delegates are ALREADY gathered at any given moment. Just an analysis, despite your intentions, this will NEVER make it to vote. Just my prediction. Nice, well-meant try, though.

Thank you. I laugh because that is exactly what my husband said. I suppose I didn't clarify with the proposal but what I was thinking that they would be together without the pressures of issues and gaining votes, as ourselves rather than specifically as delegates. :) It was a dream. If it does not go to vote I most certainly will not be offended or upset. :) I appreciate your candor. I just hope that i created no violations. I THINK i understood the rules correctly but am not POSITIVE. :) hehe. Thank you again.

If there's any violation, it's game mechanics, possibly. I see what you mean, but I still don't think it'll make it. It's a nice idea, though. Based on your good attitude, I do hope to see you and, eventually, more legislation from you in the future. We need more players willing to put forth the effort in the hopes of creating a better future in the NS multiverse. Don't let this discourage you from participating in any way.

We'd like to welcome the representative of Paranormal Phenomena to the Assembly. As for the proposal, we have to agree with our colleague from The Wolf Guardians that it doesn't have much of a chance. It's a nice idea, but we can't see it going anywhere.

Now for a suggestion -- actually a strong recommendation. When you have another idea for a proposal, write it up, but don't submit it. Post your draft here and see what people have to say. If there's a rules problem, someone will likely point it out. And you will probably get some suggestions and constructive (we hope) criticism. No sense going to the bother of submitting something until you've got it in the best possible shape.

It's always good to see a new member make an honest attempt to contribute to the organization. We're glad to have you here.

BTW, delegates frequently get together face to face (fist to fist, foot in mouth, hand in hoof, and many other variations) in the UN Strangers' Bar (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=12349881#post12349881). It may not promote much peace or understanding, but it certainly promotes something.

Oh, and if your delegate's female, tell her stiletto heels are a good idea right now. There's some toe-tromping-on taking place at the moment.)

Thank you VERY VERY much. As much for the welcome as for the suggestions. I will keep that in mind and do exactly that. :) Thank you again.
