Right to Weaponize Space

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Endless Delirium

Description: CONCERNED that global security is increasing at an alarming rate, that geographical borders are of less importance in the event of warfare.

FURTHER CONCERNED that several rogue nations possibly have already advanced the process of weaponizing space for space to earth targeting systems in which nations currently have no defense against.

PROPOSES that nations should be allowed to further their research and development of space warfare should they feel that it is of necessity for the security of a nation.

ON CONDITION that nations that wish to weaponize space must

1) declare their intentions to the United Nations

2) appoint development heads that are not of his/her own nation. A short-list for the Space Weaponizing Project Leader is proposed by the United Nations.

3) submit development reports to the UN bi-annually for review of weapons capacity, damage assessment, and personnel condition.

CLAUSE: The United Nations reserves the right to withdraw their involvement with a nation's process of weaponizing space should the nation be found provoking and conducting pre-emptive strikes against other nations without UN approval.

Should a nation continue to pursue space weaponization without UN endorsement, military action will be taken to ensure complete disarmament in the nation.

Unnecessary and dangerously close to endorsing a UN Army. Also, meddling and intrusive.

Damned if I let the gnomes get their hands on our fleet lists!

Indeed. It also violates United Nations Security Act.

And then there's the issue that most every member of the UN possessing such weapons is going to resign rather than have their national defense projects pored over by potential enemies.

Altanar's stance on this would be simple: not a chance in any of the seven hells. It's not a badly written resolution, but it is so intrusive that it makes me wonder if we should start submitting lists of what we plan to feed our soldiers for breakfast next.

Indeed. It also violates United Nations Security Act.It does? It seems to just ban a location, as opposed to a specific weapon.

Maybe. I was looking at this:
