RECOGNIZING that some UN resolutions force culturally unacepttable changes upon the population of a UN member nation

PRAISING that some further the political rights of individuals

CONDEMMING that some are in blatant disregard for the culture of a people or a member nation of the UN and cause severe distress in said societies.

THEREFORE declaring that on some issues United Nations members have the right to abstain from following a law passed by the UN if it meets the following criteria:
If the law is culturally contradictory
If it infringes on the rights of the people as declared in the laws of a member nation
If it puts undue pressure on the members of any minority or majority to (within reason) change their way of life in a significant fashion
If they, for some reason, contradict previously passed law
If they contradict the will of the people AS DEMONSTRATED IN A FAIR ELECTION.

Prime Minister of the Dominion of Aermain

>So I'm a UN member. Now what?

The UN is your chance to mold the rest of the world to your vision, by voting for resolutions you like and scuttling the rest. However, it's a double-edged sword, because your nation will also be affected by any resolutions that pass. (You can't just obey the resolutions you like and ignore the rest, like real nations do.)
No, you can't do this. Not in any form.

Go check out the Rules for UN proposals (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=420465) and try something different. This one is a dead end.

Well I can't say I agree with it, but that's the rules, so...

Besides, if one doesn't want to abide by international resolutions, one doesn't have to be a member of the UN, right? ;)

Yeah, this one seems pretty dead in the water to me...
