OOC: Underwear ban, eh? Funny...I just posted that in the Silly Proposals thread...

IC: Um...no, no and no. And Cluichstan is not in the West Pacific either (it's in the glorious Antarctic Oasis) (http://z11.invisionfree.com/Antarctic_Oasis), so on the last count as well.

Respectfully,

Bow chikka bow wow.

Underwear Ban
A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.
Category: Moral Decency
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Waseem Ahmed
Description: THE UNITED NATIONS,
DECLARES display of all forms of underwears, bikinis, panties, lingeries in public, ILLEGAL. Few issues here -
1) Yet nudity is okay?
2) How do shops get by?
3) How about on washing lines?
Prevention of Gambling Act
A resolution to legalize or outlaw gambling.
Category: Gambling
Legalize/Outlaw: Outlaw
Proposed by: Waseem Ahmed
Description: THE UNITED NATIONS,
REALISING the urgent need to fight poverty and cheating,
CONCERNED that these acts are IMMORAL and ADDICTIVE,
NOTING that rates of gambling have a direct co-efficiency relation to rates of crime and poverty,
DECLARES all acts of gambling, lottery and betting ILLEGAL AND CRIMINAL OFFENCES. 1. How does cheating equate to gambling? I can appreciate an argument that it contributes towards poverty, but the cheating bit sounds a bit like rhetoric.
2. Immoral under whose values?
3. There is an arguement that can be made that making such acts illegal simply pushes them into the control of the criminal underworld, contributing to the very issues you seek to eliminate.

Free and Compulsary Education Act looks like it has been deleted.

Wrong strength; doomed to failure; duplication/contradiction of existing Resolutions.

An underwear ban? Well let's raise it up the flagpole and sees if anyone saultes it. :p

What is underwear? (That's a serious question it's not as obvious as one might think.) What is the display of said underwear? All conditions of semi nudity aside who hasn't seen a misalignment of a lady's blouse strap and her bra strap? When is a bra not underwear? (I'm particularly thinking of a number of so called "athletic bras" which are more covering than most outergarments these days!)

Werepenguins don't wear underwear by the way. I just wanted to throw that out. Scotsmen don't wear underwear. I'm not saying what I have under my robes. Wearing underwear over regular wear or on your head is silly.

... and proposed by a UN multi, so it's not like we're going to see them reposted.

Has anyone got the text of the "Free and Compulsory Education" proposal by any chance?
It was a rehash of one of the Free Education resolutions, and would have been his third "Contradiction/Duplication violation" had I not run across the multis.

Thanks for saving us from further idiocy. ;)

Given "UN Educational Aid Act", it's extremely unlikely it would or could have been legal anyway.
