Repeal "End slavery"
A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal
Resolution: #6
Proposed by: Reiaa

Description: UN Resolution #6: End slavery (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Slavery is a way of life for most Nations, even UN Nations. Most Nations have Ignored This Ruleing of The UN. and Also, Most Slave Owners don't Torture or Beat their Slaves.

Therefore I Propose that UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION #6 Be repealed. But It will Keep The Bans on Sex Slavery, Death Camps and Child Labor.

Where did you get your information? I'm pretty sure that slavery is not a way of life in most nations. It's not in my nation.

I think you should try again with more informed information,

Who? What!? Where? How-- Are you serious?

Most Nations have Ignored This Ruleing of The UN.
What? Who? Beyond that -- no. Compliance is mandatory in the UN.

and Also, Most Slave Owners don't Torture or Beat their Slaves. Why are you Capitalizing Things Like They're in a Title? And again -- How do you figure this?

Therefore I Propose that UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION #6 Be repealed. But It will Keep The Bans on Sex Slavery, Death Camps and Child Labor.

No. If you repeal a Resolution, the whole thing goes. Can't amend Resolutions.

Constructive criticism aside, this is the absolute worst repeal for End Slavery I've ever seen. I hope you lose sleep over this.

Sirat would support a repeal of the End Slavery resolution. However, this repeal attempt makes some invalid assumtions. Certainly, a great many nations still have slavery, but I question that it's "most". It certainly isn't most UN nations, though some might have found a way around the law.

Sirat wouldn't mind re-establishing slavery, which has been illegal since we joined the UN, but realistically, this repeal has less than a snowflake's chance in Hell.

They are not slaves, Cmdr. Chiang. They are servants that get paid very well for their job and are as free as any other citizen in the nation, other than the prisoners.

Now, in alll honesty, we did have slaves before becoming a UN member nation. That practice was ended shortly after we joined.

I wish to say that the representitive of Reiaa is correct that most owners don't mistreat their slaves. When Sirat still had slavery, we did a survey on that, and the vast majority of slave owners stated that they treated their slaves very well. There were a significant number of false accusations on the part of the slaves, but they were proven to be baseless.

Yeah, see, that's the way it works in the Empire. Slavery was common, oh, six thousand years ago, but has long since died out. I'm not sure, but indentured servitude is still practiced in some areas- again, I'm not sure.

and bloody hell, what a horrible repeal!

Okay, so that's the survey taken by a single nation's slave owners. Now there's only another hundred thousand nations to go, and we'll have the completely unbiased opinions of every slave owner in the world. That'll be fun.

I have a hard time taking anything seriously once it has been subminted. I always prefer it when they get subgummed instead.

I think I'll submit a proposal and then proceed to argue vehemently against it.

The Republic of Richpoor is out raged that a fellow member of the UN would propose the elimination of the ban on slavery. As a nation founded upon the rights of all it's people I must condem act of barbarism.

Don't worry, it won't.

The original resolution blows. It should get repealed so that a better proposal could take its place. This repeal shouldn't be the one to get this off the books, though.

And here I was thinking that it had mint leaves stuffed underneath it.
