The Republic of Whistleton notes that it has now been approximately one week since the last constructive suggestion was given in improving our proposal to repeal Protect Historical Sites.

We have therefore resubmitted the proposal taking into consideration the constructive arguments put forth by The Holy Wenaist Sultanate of Gruenberg, The Allied States of St Jello Biafra, The Principality of Ausserland, and the The Misbehaving Sultanate of Cluichstan, among others. Whiston wishes to thank these nations for their aid in tightening up the proposal.

We are interested in the particulars of the telegram campaign proposed by St Jello Biafra, and would welcome any aid in drumming up support for this proposal's passage.

The text of the updated proposal follows

Description: UN Resolution #15: Protect Historical Sites (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: All Businesses) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Repeal "Protect Historical Sites"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #15

Proposed by: Whistleton

Description: UN Resolution #15: Protect Historical Sites (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: All Businesses) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The United Nations,

RECOGNIZING that culture and history should be preserved when possible,

COMMENDING the intent of Protect Historical Sites to preserve such history,

CONCERNED that the resolution provides no definition of "historical sites" or other criteria for assessing what exactly is to be protected,

OBSERVING that land is a finite resource, especially for smaller countries, and as such, there are times when new construction must take place by the razing of existing buildings,

BELIEVING that the act hinders the economic growth of developing nations unable to develop on land which may be considered "historical",

ENCOURAGING the United Nations to develop a more detailed and comprehensive replacement which shall balance the needs of culture versus the needs of economic growth,

Ausserland supports the proposal. We will ask our regional delegate to add an approval.

As for TG campaigning, we invite the representative to visit the Reclamation (http://s15.invisionfree.com/Reclamation/index.php?act=idx) forum and look through the Strategy & Tactics section. There are a number of good ideas there. No need to register; it's a public-access forum.

We too recommend the Reclamation guide to telegram campaigning. It's professional and comprehensive, and is based upon the experiences of seasoned UN members and their telegramming exploits.

I guess the next step is to get a list of nations willing to aid in the campaign; in the meantime, I'll get the delegate list set up and ready to go.

Oh, and don't worry if this takes more than one submissions to get approved. That's certainly not uncommon. Besides, with the queue as full as it is, we've got plenty of time to get the approvals we need.

Whistleton's proposal was removed because thisArgument: Repeal "Protect Historical Sites"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #15

Proposed by: Whistletonwas (presumably accidentally) left in the submitted proposal. Since all that is captured as part of the submission, it should not be in the text. No penalty was applied.

Whistleton does not appear to have reposted it yet, but when he does, I'm sure he'd welcome the help.

Thanks for providing the explanation, Fris. That's always helpful. Actually, this might be for the best. it will give him a chance to get his TG campaign ducks in a row before re-submitting. I think that's important.

Agreed. And thanks for the notification here, Fris. Very much appreciated.
