The United Nations,

RECOGNIZING the Universal right to privacy for sexual relations;

COMMENDING the intent of Sexual Freedom to protect such privacy;

MINDFUL of various important reasons, for example, criminal investigations and public safety, where the government has a legitimate right to protect its citizens;

CONCERNED that the limitation of UNR #7 to the "home" does not allow for non "home" private settings, such as rental properties, hotel rooms, etc.;

FEARFUL that the resolution, as written may result in unreported epidemics, unsolved murders, and a number of other problems which can have a dramatic impact on the population at large;

WISHING to curtail continued omissions;

ENCOURAGING a more detailed replacement;

Hereby repeals UNR#7 Sexual Freedom

Shall we begin the debate again?

Norderia will be supporting this, and its subsequent replacement. The current law does nothing to protect sexual freedoms, and that is its fatal error. Repealing it to bring forth a replacement that will guarantee sexual rights is, in the eyes of the Cold Shores, a priority for human rights supporters in the UN.

Wow. Nicely done, Karmi. OMGTKK of course will be voting yes on the repeal, no on the replacement, but I'll be rooting for both OOC.

I admit that I was a little shocked to see that you made queue. You did what I couldn't (though that doesn't surprise me). You have my full support for the repeal and subsequent resolution. I look forward to the day when the UN is free of all old, decrepit resolutions like #7. It is a pleasure to stand in solidarity with you now.

Any resolution that is so badly written that you have to be told to go look at the title to find out what it's talking about deserves to be wiped off the books. We support the repeal.

I don't think that I will need to convince the feeders of anything. It has been proven in the past that their votes may not make that big of a difference. My last resolution was proof of that.

First, congratulations on reaching quorum. That is an accomplishment in itself. Second, we support this repeal as we believe the original places in the top five of resolutions begging to be repealed. Really, it's about time. Lastly, we agree that the feeders are not essential to lobby in order to get a resolution passed, but it sure helps to get those couple thousand (whatever the count is now) delegate endorsements. We've seen some proposals fail by a slim count that a bit more lobbying could have made the difference.

The feeders have been lobbied. I'm pretty sure that they will vote against when the time comes. But since there are 3 or 4 proposals ahead of mine, I'm not going to worry about it just yet.

It is rare indeed when the feeders collectively vote alike on something. I believe on this one they will be divided.

We have deduced that Karmicaria's efforts at sucking fully fall within the legal boundaries of real sexual freedom. The issue under the current legal parameters is if Karmicaria sucked in the privacy of his/her own home or elsewhere.

I recently purchased a bottle of shampoo that noted, “Life in a vacuum sucks.”

I am entirely in favor of a repeal of "Sexual Freedom". That said, I would very much like for Dahlia to show me exactly what sexual freedom means.

Tommo the Stout and a younger male aide start to follow. Juhani grabs the Stout's arm and pulls him back to the bench while Ana Koskinen, a Counselor under the Stout, takes hold of the aide.

Juhani clears his throat, and the gentlemen all get back to work.

Ana rolls her eyes, but nonetheless begins to wonder if Juhani is gay, and how that might be a shame.

Ahem. It seems that the support just keeps coming. The approval of the delegate from the North Pacific has been added. Not sure if this is important to anyone else, but it is to me.

Ana Koskinen sees Ms. Black as she enters, and wishing desperately to keep her more masculine co-workers' minds on their work, stands up quickly and rushes over, acting as any well-meaning female would in the spirit of sisterhood. She stands very close to Dahlia and hands her a clipboard. The papers on it are written in Norderian. Ana ensures that the clipboard is held in front of Dahlia's misbuttoned blouse.
"Ms. Black, in regards to the replacement of... Ahem... Sexual Freedoms,"
Ana takes hold of the waist of Dahlia's skirt and tugs on it it straighten it out, her voice mirroring the effort with an emphasis on 'Freedoms'.
"I think it is a fine idea, especially considering that these acts happen in private," she adds, with a look and an emphasis on 'private' as she begins correcting the blouse buttons.
"That we ensure that sexual activities are of other people are none of our business."
She leans in and whispers conspiratorially, as she finishes, taking the clipboard back. "I'm sorry, I need my boys to be thinking with the bigger of their heads!"
She then steps away and makes room for Dahlia. "It's great to be working with your delegation."

Juhani and Tommo the Stout watched the exchange from their bench.
"I think that's the first time Ana has opened her mouth outside of the office," Tommo mused. He hadn't noticed what Ana had been doing with Dahlia, and turned back to jotting notes and such.

Juhani, however, begins to wonder if Ana is gay, and how that might be a shame.
