Best, I'd have to say "Nuclear Armaments." But then I'm kind of biased towards that one.;)

Didn't you do a series of polls on this anyway? Can you just link him to the results?

I dunno what my favorite would be but I think the one I hate the most is ALC. But it isin't really the worst because it dosn't any damage.

I could, but I figured he said he really is just trying to stir up debate again ... *plus* getting an independent sample would be a nice confirmation if the political climate here has changed.

'sides, I restricted my polls to just 2005 resolutions. In 3+ months we'll be ready to do the 2006 awards. :)

What would be really cool is if somebody with graphic design skills could make a Gold, Silver, and Bronze styled ribbon to give the winning resolutions.

Of resolutions, there's a number I like - RiT, Diplomatic Immunity, NERA - but I think the best one actually is UN Counterterrorism Initiative. And Nuclear Armaments is crucial.

Of repeals, I think Repeal "Ban Chemical Weapons" and Repeal "Gay Rights" are among the best argued - and the repeals of PoSP, PoDA, and Save the forests of the World!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! were very important.

That's because EVIL won! The resolution has been repealed and there is now a Starbucks in the UN building! Dr. Evil rules!

Something in the vain of this:

Bronze = Mild,
Silver = Significant,
Gold = Strong.

Like the attachment, but a bit less blury and a bit less looking like a brown plate?

Cool images! I'll need to dig out the threads and add them to this post via an edit, but the polls were conducted in the first quarter of 2006 for just 2005 resolutions ... so technically the awards should say 2005. They weren't really for "Strong", "Significant", or "Mild" resolutions ... just most popular, but I actually like associating first, second, and third place with those three descriptors as they are one of the first impressions we all have of gamemechanics of the UN. :)

Could you make a set of those with "2005" on them? And would you mind if I uploaded the three 2005 images to NSWiki and then included the images: (1) on the related resolutions, and (2) created a general article talking about the UN Awards. Since it is not a gamemechanics sponsored thing, I was thinking that the awards would be held under the umbrella of the United Nations Association (UNA) <-- this means the moderators do not have to take any blame if somebody later says, "Why wasn't I included."

Suck it up, y'all got your Prohibition on Child Pornography.

My nominees for some of the best Resolutions so far would have to be Wolfish's Convention on POWs, and Enn's Habeas Corpus.

And yet, if the shoe fits ...

I suspect it will garner some votes in the 2006 awards (still months away -- though I might get the ballots ready this weekend, no car = more intraweb time). :(

I don't know the best resolution, but the worst in my opinion is UNR #6...End Slavery.

That putrid sample of excrement has repeatedly and easily repelled my attempts at repeal and replace(r).

Which reminds me.

"What are we gonna do tommorow night, DBL?"

"Try and repeal End Slavery!!!!"

I have to go with "Sexual Freedom" as the worst. I've authored one repeal effort and supported most of the others. Talk about vague. Read literally, it legalizes nuclear weapons research in the privacy of people's bedrooms, along with bomb workshops, heroin distribution, keeping people as pets, etc.

Worst one still in effect, yes. Worst ever passed would have to go to Promotion of Solar Panels (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9692882&postcount=123).
