Public Sanitation Standards

A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: The Holy Ekaj Monarchy

Description: There are may public places that are not fit for human souls. germ infested, virus outposts that make sure that humans can never win the war against disease. Public Restrooms, Fast Food Joints, and even schools often have the tendency to have no sanitation whatsoever. Theirfore I propose that every year all public buildings are put through an inspection if they don't pass they will be punished. The consequences are here as follows:

1st offence: fine of 1,500 in nation's currency
2nd: Offence: fine of 5,000 in nations currency and building put on probation.
3rd Offence: Building condemned

I belive that improving public sanitation is the first step in eliminating diseases.

I hope all UN delegate Reading this approve this proposel

1st offence: fine of 1,500 in nation's currency

OOC:
Let's see... At current rates of exchange, Ç 1,500 are worth about US$ 6.70.

Oh no, a fine of six dollars seventy!

More seriously, you need to give this a little more thought.

a) The value of different currencies varies widely.

b) Few nations will appreciate being fined by the UN, so you may not get much support. Plus, if you're fining individuals rather than governments, that may be illegal under resolution #6.

c) You make a generalisation about sanitary conditions in all nations. Nations aren't going to appreciate that, especially if they already have strict hygiene policies of their own.

d) Who's going to carry out these "inspections"?

e) You need to spell-check your proposal. Seriously. There is no such word as "theirfore". Oh, and the grammar and punctuation are pretty bad too.

The only restrooms that the UN should be worrying about are the ones in the UN Building, and even that is unnecessary as the UN Building Management does a very good job of keeping them spic and span.
