NEW PROPOSAL: Corporation Conversion Act

Anarchic Marxists

Hello all,

I would like to call a resolution proposed by Anarchic Marxists to the attention of UN Delegates: the Corporation Conversion Act, which is shown below:

Resolved that, all corporations operating in member states shall be converted into joint employee- , manager-, and consumer-owned cooperatives.

Even if you choose not to support the proposal, I am open to comments and suggestions for improvements.

Thanks very much,

1. It's illegal for category violation. It doesn't involve any labour deregulation.

2. Without some semblance of a definition of corporation, it's meaningless.

3. What about corporations with operations in non-member nations, that have some interaction with member nations?

4. What ratio of ownership? Who sets this?

5. No.

Paste a copy in here please.
He did (http://nationstates.net/page=UN_proposal1/match=corporation).

Is that the proposal? One line? Maybe you should try to flesh it out a bit more. Just a suggestion.

And why exactly is this an issue the UN should be dealing with?

I saw this one earlier. Didn't like it then either. You want to have cooperatives in your nation, fine and dandy. But let the rest of us have whatever corporate structure we like, capische?

The UN has no need to meddle in the affairs of business, denied.

We'd support this shortly after hell froze over, and we haven't noticed any significant drop in temperature yet.

"We feel that it's a nice sentiment, but, no. Cannot happen. Furthermore, we really do need to prevent one-line legislation from getting into the books like it apparently used to way back when. Come back with a bit more thought-out and descriptive proposal, and we'll think about it. Only for about 3.14 seconds, but, I assure you, we will think about it." With that, the holographic representation of the wolf dissipated, as the computer decided it was a waste of power to keep "him" here for this... debate.
