Do We Need The Trash Probe Initiative?

We live in a time of waste and pollution. In a world of around 1.6 million nations we’re looking at the waste of well over ten billion people.
Where is all this trash going?
I propose that there is only one thing left we can do…we must stand united and launch our garbage out into space. This will have many befits.

-Nuclear waste has a radioactive half-life of around 1000 years; in space this will have no affect on anyone and will have the room it needs to dissipate.
-With more garbage in space this would mean less in our seas and forests.
-Many nations have polluted their own nation to the brink of destroying their own nation animal.

These are a few of the reasons why we need to bring in and vote for the Trash Probe Initiative as soon as possible.

10 billion? Heh.

Heh heh heh.

I believe something to the effect of shooting garbage into space has either been tried and failed, or repealed, and the recent Orbital Space Safety Act might be something worth looking over before you consider a proposal about dumping in space.

A few points:

1. You're greatly underestimating the NS population. I think the largest nation has just under 9 billion by itself. There are also many nations of 6-7 billion.

2. Some NS nations are IN space, and those nations will oppose your suggestion.

3. Some nations, including mine, lack the capability to launch our trash into space, and would oppose it for that reason.

I seem to remember something like this coming up in a draft before, and it was shot down as impractical and expensive. An idea was raised about shooting the garbage into the/a sun, and I agreed it was an interesting thought. Only problem is not all nations have the technology to do that, and again, it would be expensive.

Orbital Space Safety Act would only come into play for the orbital space area around inhabited planets, so if garbage was shot into deep space, that reso wouldn't be a barrier. Thing is though, I can't imagine any of the space faring nations being happy at the thought of their ships playing dodgeball with green baggies full of wet tea leaves, potato peelings, snotty tissues and other assorted nasties.

No, we don't need it. And I'm generally opposed to the UN doing any probing of any kind.
