I, not taking care to look through rest of proposals, made another Repeal "Protection of Historic Sites." Do not vote for mine, vote for the original started by Rhyeland. Unless of course the original goes under. Then vote for mine.

Hmmm. In the future, you should post the text of your proposal when starting a thread about it. Here is Rhyelands proposal:
Repeal "Protect Historical Sites"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #15

Proposed by: Rhyeland

Description: UN Resolution #15: Protect Historical Sites (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: All Businesses) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: COMMENDING the intentions of resolution #15.

HOWEVER it is up to a nation what is considered a historical site and what is not.

REALISES some nations may need to tear down historical sites for housing, governmental buildings, etc.

IN CONCLUSION each separate nation has their own definition of a historical site and have the right to decide what happens to their historical sites.

REPEALS resolution #15.

Approvals: 18 (NewTexas, Kytheros, Compulsoria, Gruenberg, Futuristic America, Iron Felix, St Edmundan Antarctic, Konosuna, Iznogoud, Nevadar, Lusapha, Embrough, Sudalmenia, New Pattonia, Malabra, Leg-ends, McNettness, Human Insturmentality)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 103 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Mon Sep 18 2006

The Yeldan UN Ambassadorship of Iron Felix has approved this proposal. [Withdraw Approval]
And here is yours:
Repeal "Protect Historical Sites"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #15

Proposed by: Agnosial

Description: UN Resolution #15: Protect Historical Sites (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: All Businesses) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: RECOGNIZING the value of such sites,

CITING the lack of argument in the resolution,

ARGUING that any UN member nation should be allowed to do whatever they want to any site within their own borders,

PLEADING that the UN acknowledges the rights of nations to do as they see fit,

POINTING OUT that if the UN decides what kind of things we can or can't build, and where we can or can't build it, they are being given too much power,

REPEALS the resolution to Protect Historical Sites.

Approvals: 4 (Iron Felix, Leg-ends, McNettness, Human Insturmentality)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 117 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Wed Sep 20 2006

The Yeldan UN Ambassadorship of Iron Felix has approved this proposal. [Withdraw Approval]

I see no reason not to approve both of them.

They are both deserving of approval. Why? Because they're repeals. If I were a delegate, they would have my approval.

Both Repeals are poorly written and are attempting to get rid of a resolution that is extremely well written.

You call this resolution extremely well written?

Protect Historical Sites
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: All Businesses
Proposed by: X-tonia

Description: We cannot let historical sites go to waste, and new buildings built in their place. Tourism would lose all value and deprive all countries of a significant source of income.
We must preserve our cultures to keep this world a fascinating place to travel in.

Maybe it was at the time, but the bar has been raised my friend. This needs to go.

I agree with the repeal, and would support it. I also feel the original was not well written.
