You know, if you bring up a proposal in the forums, it's considered polite to post the text of the proposal too that way we can comment on it easier.

Facilitated Education Act
A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Educational
Proposed by: Nerdy Individuals

Description: DESCRIPTION:
This resolution imposes strict rules on the educational systems of UN members. It is designed so that a country can still personallise their education systems, including keeping them private/public or whatever the nation feel correct.

Requirements:
1.All UN members must provide a facilitated educational system, public or private, defined below.
2.The Governments of nations belonging to the UN must provide sufficient income to schools in one of two ways:
A.A country may assign a yearly budget to it's citizens, and allow private companies to create schools. All schools will be required to charge the yearly budget to it's students, no more, no less. This is will encourage competition amongst a nations education industry, and therefore better education.
B.A nation may provide a full public school system run by the state.
3.Sufficient income is defined as funds that are capable of providing textbooks, classroom materials, sanitary conditions within schools, staff income. If a nation chooses private education then they must provide enough yearly budget to it's citizens so that a school of 400 or more students can keep up the conditions stated above.

Approvals: 10 (Manussa, Baklavania, The Derrak Quadrant, Kindjal, RacconTown, Grizwalland, Trans Alpine Gaul, Ace Pilots, Ellenburg, Ultrasilvania)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 114 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Tue Aug 15 2006

Did I miss something in this one based on the end of this line
Requirements:
1.All UN members must provide a facilitated educational system, public or private, defined below. As I'm still looking for a definition of "FES" some place down below.

As it stands we see no reason to support this as we have a good education system in place and don't need the UN to come in an manage it for us.

yet again this is micromanagement of the highest order.

Education is a matter for a nations government and the NSUN has already passed resolutions on this subject.
