And one more thing... if I dial 112 on my landline, it begins what is assumed to be a long distance phone call, thus no emergency number can be reached by default.

Where's the hard-hitting legislation? Come on, step up!!!

OOC: Grow up. If you feel the need to call people names, keep your mouth shut. Anyway, I'm filing an official grievance against you.

If you react that way to someone just being silly and playing around, I'd hate to see what you would do if someone called you something vulgar and REALLY meant it.

Relax.

A Telephone Shop.

btw how long between a proposal going into UN and it appearing on the forum for debate?

It's not automated. So it's whenever the proposer (or someone else) makes one.

No, the author should not.

We all play this game, which features daily issues which *do* assume modern day technology ... do you regularly complain to the moderators / game admins about that too?

Give proposal authors a break, because if they had to accomidate for "Unicorns, Kittens, and 'stuff'", our proposals would be considerably longer and do far less. Use some of that creativity for your roleplay to just work around a way to either address the spirit of the resolution or thumb your nose at it -- bearing in mind that the POINT of coming to places like this forum is to get *some* feedback from others, thus whatever you do should appeal to at least some audience besides thy shelf.

The proposal author *made* an accomidation which then assumed equal operation. Once again, if it merely operated upon telephone networks, I would have no issue with it, as it would be inapplicable. However it assumes all national telecommunication networks to == telephones to define the context of its operative clauses; thus opening itself up to these problems. Your argument would be valid IF the author only implimented this upon national telephone networks; it does not, and therefore your argument is invalidated.
