UN Proposal "Industrial Finance" deleted. It's not 'Social Justice', it's 'Advancement of Industry'.

Last time I was told to move it FROM "Advancement of Industry" TO "Social Justice"!! :headbang:

It seems someones having a joke or two mods have different views.
Could someone please decide and inform me as to which area it should go in?

Indeed.

Industrial Finance

URGES THAT:

- FUNDING FROM GAINED NATIONAL TAXES is spent on improving the industrial sectors.

CONCERNED because of the LACK of production in many country's industry's, resulting in higher prices for goods.

This in turn leading to cheaper imports of the same product overtaking home produced goods.

Resulting in job losses in the nation and higher unemployment rates putting strain on the nations economy.

BELIEVING that by financing the industry, more modern equipment will be used in the industrial sector. This resulting in more produce per hour, allowing the price of the product to be lowered somewhat and as such stands fairer competition in the industry.

MANAGED by a new government sector entitled IFTAQ (Industrial Financial Tax Allocation Quango).
This body will review the system and would have the power to increase or decrease the nations tax gain going to the industrial sector, as well as controlling the allocation of the said funds.

ACKNOWLEDGES that this will only REDUCE the problem of cheap importation, and NOT rule out importation completely.

URGES NATIONS TO:

1. Agree on funding from national tax gain to finance the industrial sector as allocated by IFTAQ.
2. Define what company's are worthy of the nations funding as allocated by IFTAQ.
3. Allocate punishment for company's that abuse this funding.

-------
RESULTING IN:
An increase in the nations economy.

Umm, aside from being way to vague on what "industry" is , and defining how much tax is spent on it...I mean...this proposal basically tells all UN Nations to throw money at the private sector to improve the world economy. Man, if this reaches quarom I'll rsign from the UN (which may just be incentive for delegates to vote for it;) ).

Opposed, opposed, opposed, opposed!

Allfunding?

CONCERNED because of the LACK of production in many country's industry's, resulting in higher prices for goods.

So can't we make up the deficit with imports? It's not necessarily a bad thing.

Right, you're promoting Autarchy. Do you realise how flawed and weak this theory is? Not to mention dangerous?

OOC: Yes, I know I'm quoting von Mises who I normally wouldn't touch with a barge-pole, but on this occasion, I think he's right.

BELIEVING that by financing the industry, more modern equipment will be used in the industrial sector. This resulting in more produce per hour, allowing the price of the product to be lowered somewhat and as such stands fairer competition in the industry.

Or you could just put money into the hands of wealthy companies at the expense of poorer ones and end up denying poorer nations the chance to trade with you, due to corporate pressure.

MANAGED by a new government sector entitled IFTAQ (Industrial Financial Tax Allocation Quango).
This body will review the system and would have the power to increase or decrease the nations tax gain going to the industrial sector, as well as controlling the allocation of the said funds.

Wait, this would be controlled by the U.N. or the nation?

ACKNOWLEDGES that this will only REDUCE the problem of cheap importation, and NOT rule out importation completely.

I have some doubts about the praticability of this.

URGES NATIONS TO:

2. Define what company's are worthy of the nations funding as allocated by IFTAQ.

Agreed in principle, if not in practice. And how will "worthy" be defined?

May the blessings of our otters be upon you.
