I have already submitted this in the UN proposals but was deleted for category violation...I really don't know what category this is - please read it and submit under which category I should put it. Thanks.

TO INTRODUCE RESEARCH LABS

Research Laboratories should be introduced in all United Nation members to:

1) Increase technology

2) Increase work for people which will be employed by these laboratories

3) Increase amount of Industrial development

4) Employ people specific in an area of work (such as Automobile Engineers, History Professors, Archaeologists, Computing engineers, Biologists etc.)to produce objects and systems never seen before in a nation (such as Electronic Stability Programme on cars; produce new informative books for schools to increase education; produce glass, wood and metal works to increase commerce; TVs which can also transmit smells to your house etc.) and increase efficiency and quality of current products in the nations (introduce new cell phones; increase road quality; make schools more modern by installing TVs, DVDs, Computers, Efficient Solar panels (which can be produced by these research labs) so as to reduce energy consumption worldwide and therefore reduce tax rates; increase food quality etc.). Also, research can be done to find ways to reduce costs and therefore reduce income tax.

5)Therefore, these people specific in the particular area of work will make lives of people in nations easier, more fun, much better and cheaper.

It may be better to ask this in Moderation - the mods are the final arbiters of legality, and may interpret the rules differently to the UN regulars. It's happened before.

Also, what category did you submit it under? That at least rules out one grouping.

What do you think?
OOC: I think you need to wait longer that two minutes for a reply.

IC: Personally, I'd categorize your proposal as "none of the UN's business."

Where?
I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question. I'll try to answer, but I may be entirely on the wrong track.

Moderation is another of the NS forums. Posting there is the easiest way of bringing something to the attention of the mods. If you posted your proposal and question there, you would find out the best category, and also importantly whether it is otherwise legal.

what category did you choose originally?

Maybe free trade, maybe Advancement of industry, maybe Education and Creativity. I'd say either of the last two.

Eugh. 4 looks like crap.

3 might validate advancement of industry

research might validate education

ask the mods, 'cause I really can't say.

And I want to analyze 4:

4) Employ people specific in an area of work

I see little reason why this is an argument FOR the proposal

(such as Automobile Engineers, History Professors, Archaeologists, Computing engineers, Biologists etc.)

I think we know what kind of people do research

to produce objects and systems never seen before in a nation

Kind of the concept of research....

(such as Electronic Stability Programme on cars; produce new informative books for schools to increase education; produce glass, wood and metal works to increase commerce; TVs which can also transmit smells to your house etc.)

Smell-o-vision got #24 worst computer product of all time. No

With the way many nations work, many of them have these things, many of them are millenia away from being able to acquire these items. Honestly, I think this isn't needed.

and increase efficiency and quality of current products in the nations

Ok

(introduce new cell phones; increase road quality; make schools more modern by installing TVs, DVDs, Computers, Efficient Solar panels (which can be produced by these research labs) so as to reduce energy consumption worldwide and therefore reduce tax rates; increase food quality etc.).

New products are, generally, MORE expensive. Very rarely does greater research lead to cheaper products. However, greater work in standardization often does make electronic products cheaper.....

Also, research can be done to find ways to reduce costs and therefore reduce income tax.

You just said that.

Now, seriously. Why are you taking the population of the entire United Nations and treating them like they're 2 and have never learnt what the term "research" means? Why are you treating us like we don't have research labs?

A better proposal would be to promote publicly funded research labs over privately funded ones. A good example in real life would be the International Space Station - funded by public funds from several countries (mainly the US) to do research in space. Most Universities are public institutions and their research is often conducted through government investments. There's all sorts of other public research labs for all sorts of other purposes. What is the benefit of these over private research labs (read: corporation endorsed).

How does reducing costs necessarily reduce income taxes? Sales, Goods and Services, Value-Added perhaps, but how is there a causal relationship for Income tax?
