To Heck with the UN! I resign!

Boli-Land

Boli-Land is resigning from the UN, and all the corruption with it. It is a threat to the sovereignty of all nations, and should be dismantled immediately! It is up to our nation's people how to run the country, not some international beaurocrats!

I hereby resign Boli-Land from the United Nations, and encourage others to follow suite.

Boli, you've made 3 whole posts on this forum.
It seems unlikely that you have made any vast contributions to the UN, either.
So why bother making a big announcement about your departure? Just leave.

On the otherhand, while it is unlikely our fleeting UN brother had an office, I know a few floors of the UN building are being used for activities that are illegal without the Management's permission. I recently kicked one such business out for Randomea's offices.

Kind friends, direct me?

No, but it is the UN HQ directory that led me to find the loophole. From Hualien resigns...
TLA is putting in a request to UN Building Mgmt to place a Frosbitarian Napalm-Grilled Kebab shop on the ground floor, facing onto the street. we are also requestion information on how to obtain suitable office space.
Unfortunatly we can not allow your request as Neville has an exclusive contract for the Stranger's Bar to be the sole food vendor in the building.
and
Having read that there can be no food sold on the premises other than in The Stranger's Bar, Randomea bids to move out of the 27th floor corridoor/portal and into the 38th floor.
We would also ask that the Fou-Fou staff be reassigned as cleaning staff for their contempt of UN regulations and the sale of food without a license.

This also opens up floors 28, part of 31 and possibly Starbucks. McDonalds doesn't serve food so I guess it can remain.
The UN HQ directory is clearly out of date. St Edmund is still there...unless the St Edmund Antarctica ambassador has taken that...mooring, and it quite clearly states that Neville is homosexual.
So my claim to kick out the Fou-Fou Restaurant is quite legitamate.
If you disagree, talk to my lawyer. He's awfully nice. Coffee?

An astute observation. I've telegrammed them and am waiting on a response. With any luck, they'll make quick work of the arrangements to save Norderia from Ambassador Tommo the Stout's room service patronage at the hotel across the street from the UN Building.

We don't mind paying for the room, but honest to gods, the man can eat! It's costing more per day than the room itself.

I apoligize profusely for the delay, first off the Directory Maintence department has only one employee (me) so office requests can take a while to be processed. Then the UN Building Management's internal network went down so I then had to wait until our IT department managed to get it back up before I could do anything anyway. However rest assured that your request will be handled as expediently as possible.

We get about one a week.

We get 5 people complain about how the UN is infringing upon their sovereignty each week spam 5, 10, 15 threads each week and then disappear.

We get 10-15 repeal ideas centered around sovereignty or proposals trying to make sovereignty a UN mandate each week with only one or two being serious attempts that go anywhere.

We get several dozen about how the UN shouldn't be meddling in their national sovereignty each time we send a resolution to vote.

Amazingly, the NSO's list of major members has grown slowly, not quickly as one might've assumed from the large list of factors.

Why? Because they bitch and then do shit all about it.

UN Corruption is driving away the people that aren't using their democratic right and putting in the effort to try and reverse it. If we are so corrupt, maybe it's because no one is using the abilities they have to stop this "corruption".

So yeah, no one cares.

Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Sophia Howe of the PR firm Dewey, Cheatum & Howe and I've been hired to counteract the negitive PR that's being spread around about the NSO.

Admittedly the NSO hasn't done much lately but remember that their proposals have to follow the same rules as every one else only it tends to be harder to write sovereignty based proposals that are in line with the rules.

Secondly when the NSO is active, people like you tend to bitch about that too.

I'm saying we see several dozen new NatSovs pop up each week complaining, yet the fact that the NSO's ranks haven't swelled exponentially shows that they aren't doing anything but bitching. I'm not saying the NSO is doing nothing but bitching (goodness knows, there's been enough troubles getting the ALC repeal through and I'll be damned if one of your people isn't behind the counter-campaign), I'm saying the average person that comes on here bitching about NatSov is doing shit diddly all.
