The Healthier Environment Act

Description: This Act is to improve the whole worlds environment and to conserve it for future generations.

DEFINITION of Healthier: Improved in health or physical condition

Currently many nations are giving out harmful gases into the atmosphere and so harming the natural environment. Businesses seem to put profit instead of the future first.
So we Propose:

1)At least 20% of a nations energy and power supplies are supplied by renewable sources such as wind or tidal.

2)Businesses must use environmetally friendly ways of waste disposal like recycling.

3)Nations must provide recycling bags to all citizens and subjects of a nation so they may contribute to a healthier environment.

4)Environmental Studies become compulsory for all states so as to teach future generations the need for conservation.

The United Nations Environmental Commission (UNEC)will be created to make sure all nations comply with the above regulations.

You could do that or if you want ignore this completly. If you must choose one of these options I'd prefer if it was the second one.

What of those nations that are not technologically or economically capable of doing so?

2)Businesses must use environmetally friendly ways of waste disposal like recycling.

3)Nations must provide recycling bags to all citizens and subjects of a nation so they may contribute to a healthier environment.

It would help it was explained how giving everyone a bag will help the environment.

4)Environmental Studies become compulsory for all states so as to teach future generations the need for conservation.

Studying the environment won't necessarily help either. Your environment is the area and atmosphere you live in. I imagine that the Sultan sitting in his office in Cluichibad has a different view of the environment than, say, one of the cloud dwellers of Ecopoiue...Ecopayaya....Ecopiou....Ecopauieieio.... of Eco.

The United Nations Environmental Commission (UNEC)will be created to make sure all nations comply with the above regulations.

Completely unnecessary commission.

I thank you for your criticism as it will help if at any other time I would like to propose a bill. This proposal from now can be ignored or deleted if a mod wishes to do so. And Jey that card is great.

The most important thing to me is local.

And nothing is more local than the Environment.

So until the "other" side agrees that THEIR environment is as important to them as mine....

I will support EVER environmental proposal that makes REAL change.

So I support this.

If the resolution is passed and I have to hand out plastic recycling bags to all of my fellow countrymen, won't this resolution have to be thrown out with the rest of the trash? The circle is making my head hurt.

I can't afford to stick any more of that crap into the curriculum. If people want to study it in their post-secondary studies then so be it, but I will not force them to unless it is required for their chosen degree. And we sure as hell can't put in before post-secondary. The elementary and high schools have so much to teach as it is that we've pushed calculus back to grade 4.

Will somebody just please kill me now?

If the honourable delegate insists.

OOC: I think this will be the second time I've actually killed you as per your request Cluichistan. You're not Lazarus in disguise are you?

1)At least 20% of a nations energy and power supplies are supplied by renewable sources such as wind or tidal.

Agreed in principle.

2)Businesses must use environmetally friendly ways of waste disposal like recycling.

Already covered.

3)Nations must provide recycling bags to all citizens and subjects of a nation so they may contribute to a healthier environment.

A little over specific I think.

4)Environmental Studies become compulsory for all states so as to teach future generations the need for conservation.

Agreed.

The United Nations Environmental Commission (UNEC)will be created to make sure all nations comply with the above regulations.

It'll have a very limited remit if this is all it has to enforce.

May the blessings of our otters be upon you.

1)least 20% of a nations energy and power supplies are supplied by renewable sources such as wind or tidal.

What's the time allowed for this changeover? As currently written the requirement would seem to start as soon as the proposal got passed, meaning that all nations would have to cut their energy & power usages immediately to no more than five times their current supply from renewable sources! Or are we supposed to have as long as we want to take to reach that target, thus making the clause effectively useless?

H'mm, technically speaking the food that powers our people might be considered a "renewable source of energy" and counted towards that total... ;)
