You should try to catch one of the co-ed nude volleyball games that I've seen occurring on the UN building's roof a few times.

Tzorsland has to vote no. In the first place the resolution as written doesn't mention age categories. Are we talking kindergarden, elementary school, high school, college, or dare I say it, senior citizen adult education classes? I'm getting visions of these 80 year old men and women playing dodgeball. MAKE IT STOP!

In the second place, physical activities are by their nature physical and things can happen. Boys and girls both need protection, but boys especialy. Jock straps and athletic bras must be a minimum. Those dodge balls can sting something fierce when thrown correctly.

Last but not least, I'm not sure this is an international issue or a matter of fundamental human rights, or even something the UN should consider. DO we really want UN Gnomes checking to see if the kids have their clothes off? Think of the gnomes!

All that is wrong is it needs an oversite committee with Old Retired German Yodelers' (O.R.G.Y) assigned to it to make sure things are done right. As we see this as only way this will ever work.

Who wears a cup in Dodgeball? I played 3 years in a dodgeball league and only one person in all 40+ games on either team got hit in the nuts - and he was back on the field the next game.

As much as I would have enjoyed that in my high school days (at least the female half), somehow I have a feeling the girls wouldn't agree. And that's probably the last thing the young men need. Despite being forced into a situation that will undoubtedly end in a sexual-harassment suit, they get paraded up in front of the girls who get to see just how 'big' they are compared to the others. One guy will become pretty popular but god help the others.

And what's P.E.? Private Enjoyment? Personal Embarassmant?

My suggestion is that you learn to control your hormones and/or find another way to satiate them (like getting a girlfriend or buying a Playboy magazine)

well in my matter it is a stupid idea to let kids get nude during PE and do what run a round with there dick or boobs flopping up and down or out in the open just doing the same thing but people will walk by and see that are schools are letting there kids do this the partens will take there kids out of schools till the problems is gone

I can double check my Greak history, but I don't recall dodge ball being in the Oompaloompa Games. I do recall a bit of discrimination on the parts of a certain faith group, (the Iews of I remember correctly) who were discriminated on the matter of certain ritual mutilations which were quite obvious whenever you competed in the nude. At one point there were attempts to have this procedure "reversed," (how they did it in such an age of primitive medicine is beyond me ... one of the problem of hearing history from the radio I suppose) but this was not clearly a fair option.

More over, we were talking about male adults. That's a big difference than from young people who are placed strictly according to physical age but can have a difference in the onset of puberty of at least 3 or 4 years and it all becomes quite apparent when in the nude.

(Odd how that happens isn't it? There is the exception of facial hair in males but nearly all of the major physical markers of pubery happen either in the breasst region in females or in the groin region. (Example the growth of pubic hair))

Especially at the Uni level, but there's various leagues around the world (I think most of them just run for a weekend, but the Uni ones might last longer. Certainly mine runs through both terms at Uni, but it's organized across the entire residence).

First: it's DEAD SIMPLE : "All P.E. lessons should ba given co-ed (reading that as "mixed sexes") and naked" : at least SOMETHING in school (lessons implies schools, no?) will be fun for those with problems in the "theory classes"

Well, it may look hard on them, but since "lessons" start out at primary school, all children will acquire a certain "comfort being nude" before this "co-ed" starts showing differences. Apart from a very tiny but of physiology, little boys and little girls don't differ too much.

Some parents don't have enough children, to have them learn this comfort at home. Other parents have both girls and boys, but silly enough keep them apart at almost all nude moments of the day: separate bedrooms, separate washing time, dad goes to the swimming pool with the boys, mom with the girls etc. As if showing who we are would be something bad, a disease that should be avoided.
So, this proposal has the potential of lessening unnecessary stress about "conventional behaviour".

As long as society goes on "condemning" nudity, as long as politicians get acquitted for a rape-charge "because she wore a skirt, so she asked for sex", this kind of program can only help the world.

o be hoest: this last example didn't come from ant NationStates newspaper, it came from another world. A world where peole wear clothes because "heating the environment" is too expensive. Right, we've gone from nude co-ed lessons to uni-sex bathrooms, washing areas and (I infer from your swimming pool argument) changing rooms. Why is this so important or beneficial to children. Do you really want to change our children into a bunch of proto-hippie weirdos? Nudity is not natural in a public setting in the vast number of societies and I don't see any pressing need to alter that.

Whoa, how did we make this connection. I don't think the "she was asking for it" argument is something endorsed by everyone opposed to public nudity.

I mean people, I'll support anything if it's good enough, but this seriously just falls flat as a proposal idea.

We are dismayed at its failure to reach quorum, and hereby move that the sponsors resubmit this, again and again and again, till it finally garners the requisite delegate signatures. This horror must not be allowed to be passed! We cannot allow our children to grow up seeing each other in the nude when performing normal activities!

Just think what would happen if we allowed this! They might get used to it! They might see it as normal, and not something to be ashamed of, as it must be!

If they actually were comfortable with nudity and didn't automatically associate it with sex, why . . . our nation's erotica businesses would have almost no market left for their products! We couldn't use sex to sell other items anymore! The entire basis for modern economies would be undermined!

While the Socialist Republic certainly respects the right of its citizens to go about their business naked, we see no grounds to make nudity mandatory. The Alphin stands in opposition to this proposal.
