I submit that an "EPA" (Environmental Protection Agency) be formed. The world has long suffered because of environment-consuming corporations. The EPA will oversee the use of Mining of uranium, limiting the enviromental exposure. This will not be a ban, but it will enforce strict rules regarding safety standards.

While interesting in concept, you may wish to develop this idea further into a form that is more acceptable to the polulace of NSUN. Take a look at the Rules for UN Proposals thread for some suggestions and ideas.
A proposal of this nature, if properly formatted and presented, could gain quite a bit of support from some of the more eco-friendly nations, but there are also a great many who would oppose. Good luck, either way.
PS - Kivisto would oppose this on the grounds that we don't like people messing with our uranium mines.

We already have strong protections in place for uranium and plutonium mining, but we wouldn't be opposed to the EPA if you can come up with a decent proposal.
