Forest Preservation Act

The Forest Preservation act states:
"Many countries are carelessly tearing down rainforests to make room for farms and industry. Without the rainforest, there will be far less plants to produce oxygen thus causing the earth to ultimately run out of oxygen. Scientists also beleive that it may result in global warming which will cause the polar ice caps to melt and resulting in the earth being flooded. There are many endangered species in the rainforests and also many undiscovered plants and animals. For all we know, there could me a plant in there that will lead to the cure to cancer This is way the rainforests must be preserved Farms are using slash-and-burn techniques to clear the forest for fields. Using this technique not only destroys the rainforest, but it pollutes the air and doesn't even use the wood for anything. The wood is wasted. Doesn't the world have enough fields? How boring would the world be with just fields? It would be much more interesting with exotic rainforests. Vote to save the rainforests now!"

UN delegates support it now!

Firstly, we already have two resolutions saving the trees.

Secondly, your proposal in its current form is just a spew of words. It doesn't actually mandate any action. That makes it illegal.

Thirdly, a very similar resolution, "Save the forests of the World", was repealed by the UN for being just an essay.

I suggest you rethink it.

Scientists also beleive that it may result in global warming which will cause the polar ice caps to melt and resulting in the earth being flooded.

Are these the same scientists that believe that there are dwarf pink gnomes in the basement of the UN building.. then why should we trust their beliefs?

I thought that was investigated and it was found certain members were down there holding a save the forest rally.

Trees remove about 5% of the world's CO2, and of course respire themselves day and night. The majority of CO2 is dissolved into the oceans. Which is why any nation relying on its number of trees as its contribution to the environment (ooc: *cough*America*cough*) is talking a lot of rubbish.

While my state would support a proposal for tree replacement, the prevention of rainforest clearing for agriculture due to it's temporary effectiveness as arable land, and perhaps a restriction of logging in key areas of environmental significance this is a jumble of ideas with no structure.
Go back to the drawing board. Read the existing resolutions.
