What you need to do is get another UN member into your region, and get them to endorse you.

So I'm a UN member. Now what?

The UN is your chance to mold the rest of the world to your vision, by voting for resolutions you like and scuttling the rest. However, it's a double-edged sword, because your nation will also be affected by any resolutions that pass. (You can't just obey the resolutions you like and ignore the rest, like real nations do.)

The first thing to do is inspect the current UN resolution at vote (if there is one). If you agree, vote for it; if you don't, oppose it. Depending on how ardent you feel, you can also debate the issue in the forum, or wire telegrams to other nations.

Second, you can endorse other UN members, which is a way to signal that you like their policies, or their leader, or their cool flag, or whatever. The nation with the most endorsements in each region is appointed Regional Delegate (see below), and gets to wield additional influence.

Finally, you can propose your own resolutions. If approved, these go in the queue to be voted on by the entire UN. You may, however, be required to possess a minimum number of endorsements first.

How come some nations get more votes than others?

Regular UN member nations each get one vote. Regional Delegates, however, get an additional vote for every UN member in their region who endorses them. This can makes Delegates from large regions quite powerful.

Delegates also have the unique ability to approve proposals, deciding which of them will become resolutions to be voted on by the entire UN, and which are silently dispatched into the night never to be heard from again. A proposal needs 6% of all Delegates to approve it to become a resolution.

How can I become a Regional Delegate?

Gain the support of other nations in your region. This is obtained via endorsements: once per day, the nation with the most endorsements in each region is appointed Regional Delegate.

You need at least 1 endorsement to become a Delegate.
How do I endorse another nation?

First, note that you can only endorse another nation if:

* You are a UN member
* They are a UN member
* You are located in the same region

If all these are true, the nation you want to endorse will have an "[Add Your Endorsement]" link in its United Nations Activity section. Click that!

This topic helps a lot. It’s the best place to start.

My advice? Don’t jump in. Lurk for a while, watch how things work. The number of newcomers who jump in and get burnt is high.

Ok, lesson time:

Gameplay: gameplay is the entire structure of the game - from your nation stats that you see on your page to the daily issues to the stat effects on UN resolutions. In the gameplay realm, you can't fight a war nor see the effects of one.

Roleplay: Roleplay is much more complex. Interestingly, the text of resolutions is completely in the roleplay environment (reason is that the text is unenforceable in the gameplay environment, yet compliance is mandatory so in the gameplay environment, we just look at category and strength - which effect the stats - while the actual details are left to the much more complex and complete realm of roleplay). In the roleplay environment, you can make up your nation's stats (within reason - Dancing Bananland froze his national population at 80 million, Gruenberg has the psychotic of psychotic dictators going, but don't tell me your population is 6 trillion stuffed on a single planet that can all be transported as a single entity to any other nation at a moment's whim), find loopholes to abuse, start a International prostitution ring that runs around the UN building bribing members with a free ride, whatever.

WELCOME TO NATIONSTATES

I noticed that you stated that "you cannot have Wars in NationStates". Well, technically you can't. But that is why the RollPlaying Forums are here. Technically you can't, but technically you CAN. We RP wars in the form of "FreeForm Rollplay." Although i don't suggest that you start wars for fun, If i were you, i would sit back and watch how it's done and read some threads. The ones at the top of the International Incidents section of the Froums marked as "STICKY" are full of good fun information on how you can RollPlay.

Oh, and before i go, i would suggest that you go to the Moderation secton of the forums and read up the entirity of the "One Stop Rules Shop". It is your binding agreenment while playing NS on www.nationstates.net as well as here in the forums.

HAVE FUN!

What makes no sense is your inability to use punctuation. To alleviate your confusion on the prositution question, I direct you to a press release (http://s6.invisionfree.com/UN_Old_Guard/index.php?showtopic=817) issued by Cluichstani Private Entertainment Services Ltd. (CPESL), a massive international corporation based in Cluichabad, Cluichstan. You will also find the company mentioned frequently in this forum.
