We need more legislation like this!

Protection of Geese Act
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: All Businesses
Proposed by: Cluichstan

Description: The United Nations,

RECONGNIZING that geese are extremely intelligent, man-loving and friendly birds, that symbolize to millions around the Christmas is coming when they get fat,

ALARMED by the killing of geese, especially those with meaty legs and large penises around the world, whether intentional of accidental,

OBSERVING that the prevention of goose killings will not in any way hurt any of the states' economies,

RECALLING UN resolution #70 (Banning Whaling), and acknowledging that it accidentally omitted geese,

1. Condemns in the strongest terms the intentional killing of geese around the world.

2. Declares that the hunting or intentional killing of geese in extra-territorial waters is a crime according to the International Law, unless when done in circumstances where it is absolutely necessary for the saving of human lives or the prevention of an ecological disaster.

3. Urges all states to legislate a provision similar to that of article #2 above.

4. Calls upon all its members to find ways to minimize the accidental killing of geese.

5. Calls upon all states to prevent goose abuse, in any way that they see fit, provided that no goose, even one with meaty legs and a large penis, shall ever be preferred over human lives.

Alright - then don't blame me when your children grow up to be mass murderors and bank robbers, living on the street because they can't keep a job. Your ignoring of your children today is going to decimate their future!

Thank you for your comments. I respect your opinion, but I believe that the opposite is true.

I happen to have a very good friend who writes bad books. Nobody believes how bad the books are until they read them, but for that they have to buy them. He is famous for the inimitable badness of his books. Now can you imagine if anyone could copy his books and start selling books with similar badness? He would be out of a job, and his three kids would starve to death while selling their innocent bodies to sadistic pedophile murderers with AIDS, fortunately not feeling that much pain while being slaughtered because of the combined effect of heroine and lsd, which they take because the international community does not recognise their legitimate right to freedom fighting and calls them terrorists.

For the love of God, think of the children!!!

Well shiver me timbers, and flog me 'round the fleet! a fellow sojourner who dislikes the whales as much as I. I'll support ya if orcas are included. BEWARE!

The individual behind this so-called proposal is a KNOWN ASSOCIATE of Communists, Socialists, Environmentalists, Feminists, Atheists, Liberationists, Leftists, Activists, Consumerists and other -ists too unmentionable to mention.

Despite posing as a commercially ruthless senior executive in an unashamedly exploitative multi-national corporation, he shamelessly flaunts his meetings with these subversives daily, using the flimsy excuse that he cannot protect himself from encountering their ilk on trains, buses or planes or at places of public entertainment.

He attempts to disguise his reprehensible tendencies by not making eye-contact with these mindless instruments of the global Judeo-Christo-Muslo-Buddho-Hindo-Confucio-Ba Hai-o conspiracy. His laughable stratagem, childishly obvious even to the unenlightened, might well be compared with Munich, Geneva or even Versailles, and is equally unsuccessful.

If you notice anyone in any public area who is not looking at you, it is your patriotic duty to notify the appropriate security authorities (except, of course, where those authorities have been subverted by the aforementioned conspiracy, as is the case in the alleged nation foolishly known as ARDCHOILLE, which mindlessly boasts that, because we would not depart from them, for we had faith and did not despair of weaning them from their wicked wanton ways, they departed from us on a fleet of donated UN helicopters, thus underlining the dubious stature and unashamedly political agenda of the UN).

In closing, and in order to circumvent the Egregiously Discriminatory Rules savagely enforced by the ruling clique hiding behind their office and title of Moderators -- MODERATORS! -- with their demand that 'posters' be 'on topic', let me point out that this proposal, were it to succeed, would IRRETRIEVABLY undermine the economies of nations such as ours, based as they are on the superlative production of incomparably exquisite pate de foie gras, impossibly luxurious goosefeather bedding and tantalisingly tasty goosefoot soup.

2. Declares that the hunting or intentional killing of geese in extra-territorial waters is a crime according to the International Law, unless when done in circumstances where it is absolutely necessary for the saving of human lives or the prevention of an ecological disaster.

ILLEGAL as written. UN Resolutions can only apply to member states. A resolution can state that Member states may not hunt or intentionally kill geese but it cannot apply that resolution to non UN nations, and technically "extra-territorial waters" is not a UN member. If it were, then the resolution would be illegal because it is specifying a specific UN member for sanctions.

(If anyone knows somebody who knows a friend who might want to create a nation state named "extra-territorial waters" and join the UN I would be much amused.) :p

Not exactly, but _
There was somebody who posted in the thread about a replacement for 'Law of the Sea' who siad that their nation consisted of mobile [floating] cities and, if I remember correctly, tried to claim whatever areas these might be moving through at any particular time as their territorial waters...

The nation of Ardchoille wishes to apologise for the outburst by our much younger step-sibling. We would ask you to understand that it is not entirely their fault.

The poor little nation was brought up in the belief that it had complete sovereignty in all things. Consequently, even with our loving guidance, it is finding it hard to accept that sometimes one must curb one's personal impulses and act for the greater good.

I am sure that with your help it will one day function as a productive and co-operative adult member of an international community dedicated to achieving a better existence for all intelligent life. Thank you all for your courtesy.

RECONGNIZING that geese are extremely intelligent, man-loving and friendly birds, that symbolize to millions around the Christmas is coming when they get fat,

1.) Geese are about as smart as a box of small rocks.

2.) Geese are not man-loving, nor are they friendly - they are actually vicious little creatures that flap their wings and nip at your fingers.

3.) Christmas is good, but geese are too gamey for any 'real' Christmas celebration.

4.) Geese spread the bird flu (H5N1), which has been known to kill people (mostly those that sleep in barns), as such I demand the freedom to kill such animals (and whales)..... (and fur seals)..... (and hippies).

It is something to be noted that only a couple of types can be hunted for meat/oil anyway.

Is this protecting all geese? Or only domestic? I'm sure the purple paradise geese native to our islands would be quite distressed to be excluded.
Our pearly dragons would be even more distressed if it prevented them from hunting the geese however, it's one of their main food sources.

Remembering the old rhyme Goosey goosey gander, whither dost thou wander? Upstairs and downstairs and in my lady's chamber it must be held that geese have the right to live as free from care as any nationalised citizen.
