Keep Guns From Convicts proposal

Neverend Nitrous

Okay basically this proposal is to stop convicts from purchasing guns.
I want to make this a safe environment so therefore I submitted a proposal to eliminate convicts from owning guns.
Now you are probably wondering what about falsely accused people.
Falsely accused people however will be allowed to purchase a weapon if they have the right paper work.

Plz convince the Delegates that this world needs Gun control!

It's considered polite to post the text of your proposal.

Keep convicts from owning guns
Category: Gun Control
Decision: Tighten
Proposed by: Neverend Nitrous

Description: What happens when crooks who have served their time get out of jail? Most of them try to buy weapons!
1.)It is just insane to let a crook buy ANY type of weapon.
2.)They may have served their time but it doesn't mean they are reformed.
3.)If you want to buy a gun or other weapons you should have your gun safety course papers and your birth certificate with photo ID.
4.)IF YOU HAVE A RECORD WITH ANY STATE POLICE DEPT. YOU ARE INELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE.

How can you carry guns?
1.) Again you must pass the gun safety course and have a liscense to carry.
2.) In a car the gun must be carried in a metal box with a lock.
3.)Gun must be unloaded.
4.)Ammunition must be stored in a locked box.

It's time to make this world a better place.
Please consider.
We feel gun laws should remain a national decision.

Sorry I forgot.
Anyways I still think that the UN should talk about it I mean we don't want a security person for the President with a criminal record now do we.

Gun laws should be a national decision. They are an issue of national sovereignty.

Good. So make a law that says security people for the President cannot have criminal records. It's not the UN's issue.

I agree with the previous opinions. On another note, try to write your proposals more like law, and less like an emotional speech.

I also agree. Especially considering West Corinthia doesn't have gun laws. If you have money you can buy a gun.

How can you say that? For the love of God, think of the children!

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with convicts owning guns. It should be in a separate proposal.

Also, watch your vocabulary. A "convict" is someone serving a sentence. So to keep guns out of the hands of convicts would be the same as to keep them from people in prison... very different from what you are proposing. Crook is also too coloquial. Maybe "former convicts" or "persons convicted of a criminal offense"?

As well, I must follow the trend of invoking NatSov. We all have our own criminal justice system, so we should all decide how to administrate gun control laws.

Speak for your own justice system. Ours works perfectly fine at rehabilitation.

Wait, you mean there are countries that let prisoners out of gaol at some point? Well I never. In Cobdenia, we just put them on a big walled island fifty miles off the coast. No need to guard them, either. They have to forage for food, which, seeing as it is a barren island, largely consists of smaller prisoners.

That is only for major crimes, of course. For minor crimes we kill them.

Hence, no-one has ever parked on a double yellow line in Cobdenia...

Admirably efficient. Think of the finances you save that way.

It should be a national decision. That way countrys can decide if they want
convicted murderers running around with guns.

I thought by title this was to keep guns out of the hands of convicted criminals who have done time and get out. Not restrict honest citizens from having and using them as needed.

Now you want me to lock my gun in a metal box with no ammunition in it and drive around. What happens when one of those criminals tries to get into my car? While I'm looking for the key to unlock the box for the gun and ammunition and then trying to find the ammunition that fell into the car seats or some place.

Only good thing to this one is part about taking a gun safety course. Rest of it restricts people from having a gun at hand when they might need it.

Then since this is only a QUESTION guess it has no teeth so we don't have to follow this part..

Also not all crimes warrant a person not having a right to own a gun. Take some CEO that steals from his company or does insider trading. Should they not be allowed to buy a gun? To protect themselves from murderers that might be out there and not following any rules on owning a gun. So you get a speeding ticket for doing 6 miles over speed.. No gun for you....

This is most definitely a national issue, if there ever was one. And is not deserving of UN attention.

And there's apparently no exemption allowed for the police, or even for the armed forces even when the latter are on campaign!
