Come on people!
are you a regional delegate of the United Nations?
are you concerned about the low levels of freedom in the UN?

If the answer is yes to both of the above, please approve the Freedom of Speech act of 2006 in the UN proposals by searching 'Freedom of Speech' in the searchbar and regarding all aspects of the self explanatory proposal, then clicking one button, how hard can it be?

So please, i insist, you regional delegates out there, approve the proposal.

Remember, this is By the people, From the people and For the people

I hate it when an out of place thread appears in general and reminds me that there is a whole rping game thing attached to general. Leave me in my bubble, dammit.

Maybe if you turn down the difficulty setting, it won't be so bad.

I've read the proposal.
If 'Gaffneys' is a RL reference, as I strongly suspect, then that makes it an illegal proposal.
Furthermore, it doesn't actually tell or even ask national governments to do anything specific, so that despite the rhetoric involved it's useless.

It's polite to post the text of your proposal.

Freedom of Speech Act 2006
Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Jakada

Description: The Gaffneys of this world are having their way, destroying our freedom of speech. Swearing and outspeaking against what we regard as injustice is being destroyed.
So, Please approve this proposal, for the good of humanity, after all, what is the point in humans being able to communicate, when our voices are restricted?
Open your minds, regard this and please approve the proposal I have made on behalf of the people.

Reasons to approve:
-We deserve to speak out against injustices in this world
-We deserve to use expressive language
-We are human, the most evolved creature, and we can talk, we have language, but our voices are restricted
-Everyone wants free speech

So understand the case, act and proposal, and approve. Its only a click of a button

Thank you
How is this not covered by the Universal Bill of Rights? And this is certainly not 'Strong', because whilst it says what's good, it doesn't do anything. I suggest you post drafts in this forum before submitting in future, so we can help you.

I agree with the honorable leader of St. Edmund.

It's a decent idea... and we do desire free speech here in Geneticon... but this proposal is not laid out properly.

I would agrue several points in this one as it makes HUMANS the most evolved creature simply because they can talk. I question if HUMANS have ever evolved; as many might claim they were simply created as they are now. Thus evolution is not how they got here. Then with so many other living beings among the UN membership other than just HUMANS how do we come to say HUMANS are the most evolved when we are not sure they were evolved.

Also what makes the fact they can talk mean others want to hear what they have to say or that what they may say is proper for the time and place they may want to say it. Goes back to yelling 'FIRE' in a crowed building simply because you want to get them all out of it.

Also on the point of everyone wants free speech. I can say that my nation doesn't want it at all as we feel silence is better than some fool coming in and disturbing our functions with their trash comments and loud voices. I also know that many nations we trade with feel as we do about this subject as they enjoy limiting where and when folks can just speek their peace.

Try walking into any courtroom in any nation and disrupting proceedings and see how fast you get put away; or into their Government Assembly Chambers and doing this.. as all have rules that tend to restrict folks from just coming in and speaking and disrupting proceedings. Thus protecting rights of all citizens not just some jerk has something to say at the wrong time and place.

Also who the heck are the GAFFNEYS? As not sure it legal to directly name another nation as the object of a UN proposal if that who they are, even if they may need to be mentioned in it as such.
