Support the Resolution to Promote a clean World. If we develop cheaper fuel involving hydrogen or some other source we would have a cleaner enviroment and spend less. It is already costly to dispose Uranium. It takes 200 years to dispose of and must be held in a sprecial room. That room cost a lot of money for the government, it must be constantly monitered by govt officials. If there is a leak it cost a lot of money to clean up. Whole areas of a nation can be blocked, stifling the economy. It makes sense to support the abolition of Uranium Mining.

Why not just support research that looks for more effective ways to store and dispose of uranium?

If we just gave up a branch of science because it wasn't practical at first, we wouldn't advance very much at all...

cleaner environment? You might have some claim if you were to specifically cite which "other" methods you suggest, but for now I'd like to remind you that nuclear power is much more environmentally friendly as a rule than many other power sources.

In my proposal I speak of the advancement of hydrogen energy. UN Resolution # 18 promises a cleaner world and advancement of hydrogen cars. By mining for Uranium some areas of nations are completely left barren. It is not all about the use of Uranium but also what it takes to acquire the element. Also, by subsidizing scientific research a nation is supporting growth in the scientific field.

Then I am confused. Are you banning the use and research of Uranium (even in places where it is not hard to obtain, which do exist and where Uranium is a valuable part of the economy), or are you encouraging the use and research of Hydrogen?

If it is the former, then you need more evidence to back up your claim, and prove that it will not have an extremely negative effect on countries whose main industry comes from Uranium-related researches and applications.

If it is the latter, then you simply need to clarify your proposal. Focusing more on the benefits of Hydrogen instead of the deficits of Uranium would be a good place to start ;)

Our King Halobin is in critical condition from a very rare disease. The only way he can live is through a respirator-type device that feeds him liquified uranium.

Is this some vandeta against King Halobin? Please don't kill him.

We don't store, we dump it on our enemies, and we have a new contender for a dumping ground.....nunsios.

Description: It has come to my attention that UN RESOLUTION #18 cannot be carried out unless Uranium Mining is Outlawed. Uranium is used for nuclear energy purposes, furthermore, it takes 200 years for the radioactivity to level. UN RESOLUTION #18 promises a cleaner environment and advancement of hydrogen energy, but while we have Uranium what makes nations willing to put forth maximum effort in search of cleaner fuel. Some Nations have economic interest with Uranium fuel and are not willing to spend money for new fuel. I propose the following.
1.Uranium Mining be outlawed
2.Subsidies for scientific research, new fuel, and a better way to dispose of the already existing Uranium.

I want to outlaw the usage and with the already existing Uranium residues research for new ways to dispose of it, futhermore, I would like for UN RESOLUTION #18 to be Coherent and not be just a peace of legislation.

Hydrogen for use as a fuel has to be obtained by splitting it off from some other chemical, such as water. That process takes a significant amount of energy, which has to be produced somehow, and without nuclear fission that would become more difficult...

izzarely, I think I have an answer to your uranium waste problems. Give it to us. For a small but reasonable fee, we will take your waste into space on our new space elevator. Then we will take it to our geo-synchronized space station, where it will contribute to an experimental recycling program.

Oh, by the way, we voted Opposed because it's not feasable. Because it isn't. Use what you've got to make a better world.
