No, no it will not. Guns in the hands of the general populace is a stain on the community and just begging people to kill each other with these dangerous weapons. If you want to destroy your own society with these weapons, be my guest. Leave the gun control decisions of the rest of the world to the respective nations.

You should post a copy of your proposal up here so people can see what you are talking about ;):).

I assume this is it?

Guns For All

A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.

Category: Gun Control

Decision: Relax

Proposed by: Fried Chicken Soup

Description: ARGUMENT: Guns should be made legal for everyone.
PROS:The more people that know how to use and protect them selves the better. If children are able to effectively use guns there will be less crime and less money needed for law enforcement. Because of this the Military will be able to cut spending on training troops and put the money towards recruiting or other needed causes.
CONS:There are very few cons but the important one is that the military will have to wait a number of years until this law can be effected.
CONCLUSION: this law will overall increase the effectiveness of all nations and cut spending costs which will mean lower taxes. Overall this law will be a great asset to all nations.

Approvals: 1 (Arendias)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 121 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Wed Feb 8 2006

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If something like this ever passes, we will be more than happy to make guns legal to comply. Ammunition however will remain strictly illegal to the general populance.

If you want to improve this, I suggest you take out the enormous loophole that most "right to bear arms" proposal authors make, and include ammunition in the legality clause.

Even if you do this however, not all nations have crime rates that require citizens to walk around packing heat. Our nation finds that a good welfare system and well funded education do a much better job of crime prevention than turning our nation into a carbon copy of the old wild west.

While we allow guns for sportsmanship and hunting not handguns. Heavier weapons and handguns are not stored in homes generally. They are at what one would call a "military grange" a kind of common shared firing and practice range and mutual association for the citizens militia. It is frowned on to store heavy weapons in ones home. In addition there are depots for civilian police corps in most towns.
