I cannot propose yet if someone could put this in for me:

Category: Recreational Drug use
Resolution name: Ban Drug Use
Effect: Strong

There are many reasons Drugs should be banned,

1. They harm the human body.
2. They Cause International Gang wars.

How would you like to feal "happy" for 1-2 hours then fight out you have cancer.

My proposal is that the following actions take place:

1. Banning Of ALL Drugs (excluding medical reasons)
2. The raising age of smoking tobacco and Chewing tobacco.
3. New funds put into making inland Security to stop Drug related issues.

thoughts? also someone propose this cuz I cant :(

If you're banning all drugs...why would there be an age limit for tobacco?

Without a definition of 'drug', your proposal won't really work.

Well maybe you should have put that in your proposal. But I would question, anyway, why you assume marijuana is more 'sevear' than nicotine.

Indeed. Far easier to quit using marijuana.

(OOC: What about Alcohol, or Caffeine, or Cola? They're all drugs, and all have opponents at least in RL...)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recreational_drug_use

There's a link to a nice Wiki about recreational drugs.

I think you mean "find out you have cancer." Also, on "raising the age of smoking tobacco and chewing tobacco," it's worded oddly. Might wanna rearange the words until it sounds better. Plus, it's rather vague. Raise it to what? What if the current age is 15? They can just raise it to 16 and be in compliance. Might wanna specify.

Though, personally I think it should be up to the individual nation whether or not it should be illegal.

Firstly, I'm glad to see someone is trying to do something here. I can't come up with anything to propose on (and I can't propose anyway...) but I'm glad to see new people trying.

With that said, this proposal has a LOT of problems.

Don't capitalize drugs.
1. They harm the human body.
So do cars, knives, gun, cats, toothpicks, etc. Just about anything can cause harm to the human body. Many things (like guns and bombs) do more damage than drugs.

2. They Cause International Gang wars.

Many will say they only cause these wars because they are illegal. If they were legal, resposible companies could sell them, instead of gangs. Also, don't capitalize every word.

How would you like to feal "happy" for 1-2 hours then fight out you have cancer.

This is not a good argument style. Rhetorical questions don't really belong in a proposal, IMHO. Not to mention the spelling and grammatical mistakes.

My proposal is that the following actions take place:

1. Banning Of ALL Drugs (excluding medical reasons)

You either need to define drugs, or make a list of what's being banned. This includes nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, etc. It could even be read as banning any herbal supplements that a doctor doesn't prescribe.
2. The raising age of smoking tobacco and Chewing tobacco.

This directly contradicts 1. Not to mention the horrible grammar. (So, I need to make my tobacco older? I can't sell it until its been in the shed for another year?)
3. New funds put into making inland Security to stop Drug related issues.
What is "inland Security"? I don't have an "inland security" department. My whole nation is an island chain. There is no inland.

3. New funds put into making inland Security to stop Drug related issues.

With reference to the first solution what if the a drug used for medicinal purposes also has the possibility, when excessively used, to cause great physical harm (much like many over-the-counter drugs today, i.e. Aspirin). Would they then be banned?

Equally, how do you define a set age for all nations, particularly those with differing cultural traditions (speaking of which, how would you accomodate nations who rely on drug or pharmaceutically related exports).

Finally, who would provide the inland Security (sic) funds? The U.N.?

May the blessings of our otters be upon you.
