Im voting against, but it is a topic to be brought up. proposal to Ban assisted suicide so that it may never happen AGAIN in my land.

Nope I don't believe it should be banned, but what you do in your own nation is your business.

So you have two choices. Repeal this resolution, and then either ban it in your own nation, or write and pass a resolution to ban it in all UN nations, or just issue/role play/ignore the existing resolution away. It's up to you.

Well, you can't ban it in your nation, until you repeal the resolution. I would like to see that one go, though, so good luck.

My answer was an or, not an and.

While I don't use the compliance arguement anymore, because it was rather curtly pointed out to me a while ago that nothing happens to nations that don't comply so its a silly arguement to use, I do believe nations can't have their non-compliance cake and eat it too.

If you are looking to repeal this resolution, then you must recognise it exists to do that, and that it applies to your nation.

If you are going to go the issue it/role play it/ignore it away, then you can't repeal it because you are pretending it doesn't exist so it can't apply to your nation, and you can't really repeal something you don't recognise exists.

Hope this makes sense, its 4am here and I really need to get some sleep :p.
