Managed Care Paitent Protection

Require health plans to cover emergency care when a prudent layperson could reasonably believe such care was required. Health plans would have to allow direct access to gynecological and pediatric care. The bill would establish an internal and external appeals process to reveiw denial of care. patients or their estates would have the right to sue there health plan in nations courts when they believe plan decisions result in injury or death if of patients.

Fonzoland supports patent protection. Finds the connection between intelectual property and health care thin at best. Desn't like excessive micromanagement. Suggests cooling down and thinking over the issues before opening threads.

Throwing out thousands of ideas on several threads is nothing short of spam. If you want to suggest a few things you were thinking about, have a single thread saying "Here's some ideas I'm thinking of tackling, what do you guys think about them". If there's one that people like (this one actually has a bit of promise and is the first so far from you), they will tell you can you can make a thread for it to begin drafting. Right now, you don't have a draft for a proposal yet - you're just throwing ideas out to see what people say.

OOC:
The 2003 resolutions looked similar to the text that was provided, and amazingly players managed to discuss the ideas and reach some sort of consensus.

Personally I like the look of the 2004/2005 resolutions, but it is possible that what you see as "spam" might be an attempt to get feedback on an exist or future proposal.

I would rather encourage discussions if they look like they are remotely related to the NS UN. :)

IC:
I'd have too look back to see what the old Required Basic Healthcare resolutions left the UN with, but this sort of idea isn't completely foregin to this body. I think what Americanah has added, which my government hasn't focused on yet, is the concept of denial of emergency care and the ability / right for patients to overturn these decisions.

Of the various Americanah proposals that have been submitted, this idea is the most interesting to my government, and so I'll ask my staff to look over the previous resolutions to see what the UN has done in the area of healthcare.

If this was his only proposal in a while, I'd absolutely agree with you. However, this is his only LEGAL proposal of 4 that he's submitted in two days and only one of 3 he submitted within an hour. I would call it spam. Heck, his first proposal was a funding request for a $15 billion dollar prison.

To offer a modicum of fairness to the honourable delegate of Americanah, it has often been alleged that major phramaceutical companies have invoked patent protection to limit the dissemination of generic drugs and/or other such medication.

May the blessings of our otters be upon you.

Meh. But keep your hands off my amusing misreading. ;)
