UN Delegates, hurry to review proposal

United Badlands

I recently proposed a UN resolution which will, if adopted, direct the global economy in a far freer direction and will be beneficial all around. I only proposed it a couple days ago and voting to approve it apparently ends December 30 and I need like 115 more approvals...so could UN Delegates at least hurry up and look at it, and (if you approve of it) endorse it soon?
Thanks

It's polite to post a draft on the forums, or at least give us a link.

Global Neoliberalist Economy
Category: Free Trade
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: United Badlands

Description: IN LIGHT OF the fact that globalized trade is largely shaped by the interests of powerful nations and corporations, with the rich growing richer and the poor growing poorer,
a global economic path of NEOLIBERALISM will hereby be adopted. This new policy is defined by:
1. A SELF-REGULATING market, which will balance itself based on market pressures and distribute wealth through a "trickle down" philosophy. This will be brought into effect through the removal of restrictions on capital flows and investments, such as tariffs and regulations, removal of capital flow impediments, and deunionization of labor.
2. Privatization of public enterprise, including utilities, internet, etc. Privatization removes inefficiencies of the public sector.
This transformation will aim to transmute current notions of public/community good to individual responsibility and gain. Un-interfered global trade is the most efficient way to transfer goods and resources. This resolution promotes freedom of trade, freedom of circulation of capital, and free investing opportunities. The Neoliberalist approach to world trade be beneficial all around by causing sustained economic growth on a global level.

Approvals: 5 (Leg-ends, New Hamilton, Alexandrian Ptolemais, Allied Iraq, WZ Forums)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 123 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Fri Dec 30 2005

You used 'Neoliberalist' and 'trickle-down' in the actual text? Yeah, that's not going to win you any friends? Also, no way in hell is this Mild.

Illegal. You cannot force political systems on member nations. And, yes, free markets are part of the political system.

Not only is this illegal, but it forgets to provide a definition of "public enterprise" and assumes the internet is controlled by governments (which it isn't in case you hadn't guessed). Furthermore, how does rampant liberalisation using "shock therapy" economics, reduce the rich-poor gap?

May the blessings of our otters be upon you.

Trickle down economics...please give a credible RL example of where that has worked before I even consider considering this proposal, let alone voting yes for it.

Ten points for the first to point out the inherent contradiction in this statement...

One? A liberal against free trade, growing poorer by voluntary trade, and a global economic path against globalized trade. Does that get me points?
