The UN says I will be booted if i summit this. What in the heck is wrong with it?
here is the proposal:

Section 1

1- CONCERNED that relationships between nations are decreasing.
2- CONVINCED that friendly competition between nations will improve relationships.
3- BELIEVES that a global athletic competition will increase global relations and improve physical fitness for all.
4- SUPPORTS organization of a event that will occur every 2 years where
1.1 All nations that request to can summit a team(s) to play in worldly games.
1.2 That will consist of a series of events where teams pit themselves against other teams (nations) to win medals/prestige in the name of athletic sprit.
5- AGREES that worldly games will increase physical fitness around the world.
6- SUGGESTS that we set this bill in action to get the games started ASAP

Section 2

Athletes/Games

1- Athletes will be hand picked by the nation; usually the highest performer in his/her sport. Nations may have up to 200 athletes, though there is no requirement to have 200.
2- We recognize that athletes can be the target of bombings, harm and attacks, so we suggest organizing a security system/group to protect athletes and people attending the games. So a security force comprised of elite men & women trained in riot control, body guarding, bomb controlling/dismantling and terrorist situations. A security force will be present at the games, protecting guests and athletes. These guard will have be trained to handle the above. The athletes will be escorted to the events by a guard(s) more popular athletes s will tend to have more Guards.
3- Host nations of the games are selected via the INTERNATIONAL GAMES LEAGUE, which selects athletes and vote on hosts’ nations.
4- The list of events are:

Summer Sports:
Aquatics, Archery, Baseball, basketball, Boxing, Canoe/ kayak, Cricket, Cycling, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Softball, Soccer, Table Tennis, taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling.

Winter Sports: Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Curling, Ice Hockey, Luge, and Skating

5- Both summer and winter games are on a two-year cycle, but at alternating years. In addition, at different locations.
6- Medals Are Gold, Silver & Bronze.
7- There Are 12 judges in each category, and the international Games council decides who the judges are.
8- INTERNATIONAL GAMES COUNCIL is comprised of 200 members, and UN delegates must vote members in. Each country represented may have ONE and only one member.
9- Performance enhancing drugs are illegal in the games, and every athlete is tested at 1. The start of the competition
2. Before any event
3. Randomly
10- Any athlete found to abuse named substances will: be striped of any medals or records (1st offence) Banned for life (2nd offence) (Note: If the 1st offence is severe, he may also be banned.)
11- The games will be broadcasted on TV, & Radio.

Also thanks to Czechotova for helping with additions to the Act.

I believe that this bit may be a problem. While commitees are allowed in proposals, they are staffed by 'mystical commitee members', not by actual representatives of nation.
Also, saying that delegates must do the voting is illegal, being (I believe) a metagaming violation. Check the Proposal rules.

Here's the rules: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=420465

Section 1

1- CONCERNED that relationships between nations are decreasing.

Debatable

2- CONVINCED that friendly competition between nations will improve relationships.

Because, of course, nations that are at each other's throats will be friendly in their competition

3- BELIEVES that a global athletic competition will increase global relations and improve physical fitness for all.

Or at the very least, those who are competing.

4- SUPPORTS organization of a event that will occur every 2 years where

Oh boy

1.1 All nations that request to can summit a team(s) to play in worldly games.

Wow, we're going to have.....30,000 nations each with a bunch of teams playing against each other? Wow, that's simply....AWESOME

1.2 That will consist of a series of events where teams pit themselves against other teams (nations) to win medals/prestige in the name of athletic sprit.

Might want to check spelling of the last word there.

5- AGREES that worldly games will increase physical fitness around the world.

I'm glad you agree to it, but I don't. I would have a very hard time believing that you can get the average citizen to be more fit because the best of some nations (which are as big as 5-6 billion residents) are going to be competing....

6- SUGGESTS that we set this bill in action to get the games started ASAP

UN Resolutions happen instantaneously - this line is completely useless

Section 2

Athletes/Games

Uh oh

1- Athletes will be hand picked by the nation; usually the highest performer in his/her sport. Nations may have up to 200 athletes, though there is no requirement to have 200.

Let's see.....200 * 30,000 = 6 million!!!!!! Wow

2- We recognize that athletes can be the target of bombings, harm and attacks,

Remove harm - I think we got the picture with bombings and attacks

so we suggest organizing a security system/group to protect athletes and people attending the games. So a security force comprised of elite men & women trained in riot control,

For several entire cities

body guarding, bomb controlling/dismantling and terrorist situations. A security force will be present at the games, protecting guests and athletes. These guard will have be trained to handle the above. The athletes will be escorted to the events by a guard(s) more popular athletes s will tend to have more Guards.

Um.....wouldn't the security officer in charge of the games be better qualified to deal with all of these arrangements.

3- Host nations of the games are selected via the INTERNATIONAL GAMES LEAGUE, which selects athletes and vote on hosts’ nations.

*blinks* Wha?

4- The list of events are:

Summer Sports:
Aquatics, Archery, Baseball, basketball, Boxing, Canoe/ kayak, Cricket, Cycling, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Softball, Soccer, Table Tennis, taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling.

With, of course, no consideration of the possibility that the future might bring more sports that could be played.

Winter Sports: Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Curling, Ice Hockey, Luge, and Skating

And you missed a HUGE number of my favorite winter sports (Though at least you got Hockey).

5- Both summer and winter games are on a two-year cycle, but at alternating years. In addition, at different locations.

Ok

6- Medals Are Gold, Silver & Bronze.

Let's see......6 million competitors during the summer spread out across 27 different categories, and we'll say there is....10 different groups in each category (likely a high number).......less than 1 in 1000 people will walk away with any prize.....

7- There Are 12 judges in each category, and the international Games council decides who the judges are.

Fine

8- INTERNATIONAL GAMES COUNCIL is comprised of 200 members, and UN delegates must vote members in.

Illegal: MetaGaming->Committees

Each country represented may have ONE and only one member.

Fine

9- Performance enhancing drugs are illegal in the games, and every athlete is tested at 1. The start of the competition
2. Before any event
3. Randomly

(psst - after the event too......)

10- Any athlete found to abuse named substances will: be striped of any medals or records (1st offence) Banned for life (2nd offence) (Note: If the 1st offence is severe, he may also be banned.)

All medals he ever won? Wow that's harsh

11- The games will be broadcasted on TV, & Radio.

What about.....
-Internet
-VidScreens
-Other FT possibilities

Also thanks to Czechotova for helping with additions to the Act.

Good.

Category: not a bloody clue - you might want to ask
Strength: Significant

Olympics is one of the hardest tried areas to pass. The problem, unlike many other resolutions, isn't that you have to worry about the International Body, but that it is next to impossible to actually make it legal. Many different attempts at forming the olympics have been removed from queue before they had a chance to be voted upon.

On the other hand, if you really want to create some olympic games, do you really need to go through the UN? Why don't you just make a new forum or RP it somewhere here? It seems like there are plenty of members willing to join, based on the times this has shown up.

Precisely the way to go.
