Menace? I'd say (like my fellow replyees) that your poll options were more of a menace that two people of the same sex expressing an act of love.

It seems to me you have been drinking a little too deeply from the well of bigotry and irrationality. I suggest you re-evaluate your opinions and try to think of homosexuals as people equal to yourself, not as enemies.

Anyways, if we want to start talking about threats to humanity, we should start talking about those who make the world so one sided that no one else can possibly suggest their point of view, for no ability is given to do so. Take this poll for example, you have the options of.....yes we should ban it, of course we should ban it, definately we should be ban it, and I'm not sure whether we should ban it or not - but of course, no one is allowed to put "are you freaking nuts? Gay marriage should be enshrined into our laws as a holy tradition that God holds above all other beliefs for only those who's bodily organs function in the same way can truly know how to make each other feel happy!"

Seriously - it is wonderful to see you put your opinions down, but why? Because it's an insult to humanity? Many would say it is an insult to humanity that we have to bring it down to the level of believing those who believe differently than we do are seen as outcasts or wrongdoers. It is an insult to humanity that such feelings even exist. And so, I ask you a crucial question:

This is what bugs me about all the anti-gay rights proposals on this forum.

No one dare say that homosexuality is an ABOMINATION and it should be banned, and anyone found practicing it should be killed until they are dead, then killed some more. They just think that gay marriage should be banned, but are quite happy for everything else to be going on.

If you are going to ask for gay marriage to be banned on the basis that sex between two men is unnatural, or that the bible says so - then at least have the courage of your convictions and ban everything else as well - if it is so much of an abomination then why let it go on? Surely you are just condoning and sympathising with the gay community if you let two men live in sin and screw each other all night after you forbid them to get married.

Either homosexuality is wrong, or it isn't. If it is - you should want to ban it all and kill every single one of them. If it's not, then just shut up and sit down and stop whining about it.

Pallatium, I wouldn't go that far. It's very reasonable to think that a person is sinning without wanting to kill them and everyone like them. In fact, many RL churches have "Ex-Gay Ministries" that reach out to homosexuals and attempt to end their sinning.

Granted, I think Leviticus is wholly unreliable as a set of laws for today's society, and as such I don't see homosexuality as a sin. But some people do, and there's a big difference between attempting to save people's souls and wanting to kill them all. Yes, Ex-Gay Ministries might be seen as forcibly imposing a set of morals on others, but I think it's honorable for a person to attempt to save another's soul if they truly believe in what they're doing.

Alright, let's put this on another face.

Hetersexuality is now struck out as null and void. If you are heterosexual, you are now to be reviled, socially outcast, discrimanated against, repressed, and barred from any respect from people who do not allow themselves an open or accepting mind, clinging to their ideals and beliefs.

And, now that it is a law, everyone is legally obligated to feel that way.

Now, flip it and apply it. How do you think people of a homosexual orientation feel?

How do these people threaten you?

What gives YOU the right to say that it is good or bad?
