Support the repeal of "END BARBARIC PUNISHMENTS"
Support the following U.N proposal.
Repeal "END BARBARIC PUNISHMENTS"
Description: UN Resolution #41: END BARBARIC PUNISHMENTS (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument: Whether they are witnesses or suspects or innocent victims, all human beings in member nations are already protected against torture or other cruel and unusual punishments under the United Nations Bill of Rights (Resolution #26).
While the resolution to be repealed is commendable, it is also redundent.

Actually - no. One clause
Any information proved to be found by methods of torture will not be heard in a court of law and the nations will be punished with a substantial fine.
Means that even if the torture takes place in non-member nations, it will not be admissible in UN member nation courts.
I think this an important law to keep, because otherwise UN member nations will simply ship out witnesses to be tortured in non-member nations to get evidence out of them. Which is unacceptable :}

isnt it interesting how you go to repeal based on redundancy, yet there is one clause in the resolution that is not covered anywhere else...?

How about lets NOT repeal this? I think its a good law, and if I back it up, its probably not a problem at all (most nations will remember that in my nation the application of extremely harsh punishments is common usage). If you really really want to torture someone there are ways around the laws.

That one clause is just my opinion, and in no way am I a lawyer, so I could be wrong about it.

i think it is a valid opinion. there has been a few, i think, that have failed because of one clause in it that people will not allow to be repealed
