:sniper: Thanks to anyone taking time to read this thread. I cuurently have a proposal in the UN's list to make Halo 2 and other FPS Competitions be Recognized as an Alternative Sport. Please if you would take time and look at the proposal and approve it. It is listed as Halo 2 Competitions as a Sport.
Thanks.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: Mark6

Description: I believe firmly in the right to be able to participate in alternative sports such as Motocross or Skateboarding. That is why I am submitting the proposal to make Halo 2 Competitions an official sporting event. This is a sport that would transcend the barriers that would keep some from playing baseball or football it would be a sport that would recognize someone’s intellect and cunningness. Plus it is a competition in which almost everyone could compete. Whether they are old or young. People could feel the joy and love of having fans admire them for something that they excel in. In fact why stop there. Why not include other games in the First Person Shooter Realm. Games such as: Half-Life 2, Socom Series, and others along those lines.

Approvals: 4 (ChasingxFiction, Arkham Forrest, Blue Buddhas, Mark6)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 124 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Tue Nov 1 2005

This is the worst proposal I have ever seen.

True. There was that 'Protection of Dolphins Act' one.

Actually Mark6, I apologise. But I really can't support this. It's poorly written and I just don't care. Recognise Halo2 as a sport if you want; the UN has no official list of recognised sports anyway.

I anyone thinks this is a joke that is fine. Just thought it would be neat if by some miracle if this proposal gained any support. If any one takes Nation States seroius enough to critize how poorly the proposal was written; then that is hilarious. It is just a game folks. It is kind of sad that anyone has that much time to even criticize me or my proposal!

If you have nothing useful to contribute, don't contribute. Thing I never get with trolls is how they decry us as sad...yet spend their time trying to get a reaction out of us. It's a Sunday night; shouldn't non-sad people be out socialising, instead of lurking on internet forums mocking things they don't understand and promoting computer games?

Actually, I'm not sitting at home. I am sitting at work getting paid to do tech support. Plus, what is there to contribute. Nothing I do in NationStates will affect the actual politics in the real world.

Yes, it will. The majority of NSers are young, and still forming their political opinions. By encouraging positive and interesting debate, we are contributing to the evolution of the next generation of lawyers, writers, politicians and so on. And, anyway, that which is confined to NS is not necessarily any the less for being so; to repeat, this is just a game. So why not lighten up, and try to enjoy it?
