Poorly worded resolution

The Liberal Utopia of Maineiacs would like to draw all members' attention to a proposal currently on the queue. "The people With Disabilities Act". While most of this act would improve the lives of those with disabilities, clause #2 we find most distressing. it reads "Under law, no person with serious inheritable disabilities shall be denied the right to reproduce, but a United Nations program shall be set up to discourage them from doing so." (italics added for emphasis) As our nation's founder himself has an inherited birth defect that has left him wheelchair bound, we cannot in good conscience vote for this proposal, and we strongly encourage other nations to reject tihs poorly worded proposal as well. That one clause alone would seriously undermine the civil rights of the very people the act would ostensibly protect. Thank you for your consideration.

We agree.

There is, however, no need to do this usually. Few proposals 'make it'; if they haven't had forum publicity, it's very, very hard. Usually, then, a proposal like this stands no chance. I will nonetheless pass this on to my delegate.

if i see this this will get the usual Kirisuban treatment that stupid/offensive/pointless proposals get from us.

taken apart and shot down.

Considering there is UN legislation already on the rights of the disabled, I doubt this proposal is even legal. However, I'd have to see the full text to be sure.
